An air cleaning apparatus for vehicles includes an ozone generator, diffusing plate, and activated charcoal filter, which are disposed sequentially from the upstream side of air flow in an air cleaning duct. The activated charcoal filter contains acid treated activated charcoal and alkali treated activated charcoal. Thus, in the air cleaning apparatus for vehicles, the ozone generator oxidizes ammonia and acetaldehyde and then absorbs and removes the products by acid activated charcoal and alkali activated charcoal. As a result, ammonia, acetaldehyde and acetic acid which are bad odor components of cigarette smoke can be removed sufficiently and effectively.

An engine of a construction vehicle is controlled by a system which includes an engine control operation transmitting mechanism having a loose spring means and connecting a fuel control lever and a governor control lever; a decelerator cylinder accommodating a piston therein and having a spring for biasing always the piston on the opposite side of a pressure chamber defined thereby and on the side of the spring a piston rod connected through a york having an elongated hole formed therein to said transmitting mechanism; a solenoid valve adapted to supply the fluid under pressure delivered by a hydraulic pump driven by the engine for exclusive use in control of the system into the pressure chamber of the decelerator cylinder, and cut off the fluid supply; and an electric circuit for controlling the solenoid valve. The above-mentioned decelerator cylinder is so arranged, when the piston is not subjected to the fluid pressure force, as to transmit directly the operation of the fuel control lever to the governor control lever, while when the piston is subjected to the fluid pressure force, to set the governor control lever at a decelerating position even when the fuel control lever is held at a full speed running position, thereby reducing the number of revolutions of the engine to those in the idling speed condition.

A crawler vehicle undercarriage which comprises a first cylindrical track frame pivotally mounted to a vehicle frame and a second cylindrical track frame telescopically received within the first track frame. An idler is pivotally and rotatably mounted through a cushion pad to a forward end of the second track frame while a drive sprocket is mounted to a drive shaft. A track chain encompasses the idler and the drive sprocket and is in driven engagement with the drive sprocket. A recoil spring is interposed between the first and second track frames for urging the idler away from the sprocket to maintain track tension. First and second crank members are pivotally mounted to the first track frame with a common pivot axis. A bogie is pivotally mounted to the respective crank members and a pair of track rollers are pivotally mounted to each bogie, the track rollers engaging the track chain.

A steering control system for crawler tractor type vehicles with dual power trains which is capable of separately driving left and right endless track mechanisms and comprises an interlocking valve unit and a hydraulic circuit, the interlocking valve unit being located between a manually operated section and an actuating section and adapted to operatively connect these two sections with each other, the manually operated section including left and right steering levers and a commonly used brake pedal, the actuating section including left and right steering brake units and a center clutch unit, the hydraulic circuit selectively supplying hydraulic fluid delivered by a hydraulic pump into the actuating section in response to the action of the interlocking valve unit caused by the manipulation of either of the steering levers and/or the brake pedal.
