A gel composition is a gel composition containing a base oil (a) and a hydrogenated block copolymer (b), wherein the hydrogenated block copolymer (b) is a hydrogenated product of a diblock copolymer composed of a polymer block (A) consisting mainly of a structural unit derived from an aromatic vinyl compound and a polymer block (B) consisting mainly of a structural unit derived from a conjugated diene compound, the content of the polymer block (A) in the hydrogenated block copolymer (b) being 38.0 to 45.0% by mass; and the content of the hydrogenated block copolymer (b) in the gel composition is 1 to 20 parts by mass based on 100 parts by mass of the total amount of the base oil (a) and the hydrogenated block copolymer (b).

The invention provides a laminating acrylic thermoplastic polymer composition which is favorably laminated together with a layer including a plasticizer-containing polymer composition while ensuring that the migration of the plasticizer into the acrylic thermoplastic polymer composition layer is small and the resultant laminate attains excellent durability, and also provides a laminate obtained by laminating a layer including the laminating acrylic thermoplastic polymer composition onto one or both sides of a layer including the plasticizer-containing polymer composition. A thermoplastic resin composition containing an olefin-based polymer and a hydrogenated block copolymer, wherein: with respect to the olefin-based polymer, an amount of heat of crystal fusion (&#x394;H) is less than 80 J/g; the hydrogenated block copolymer is a hydrogenated product of a block copolymer composed of a first polymer block consisting of a structural unit derived from an aromatic vinyl compound and a second polymer block consisting of a structural unit derived from a conjugated diene compound; the content of the first polymer block in the hydrogenated block copolymer is 1 to 60% by mass; a proportion of a vinyl bond amount of the second polymer block is 50 to 95 mol %; and the content of the hydrogenated block copolymer in the thermoplastic resin composition is from 1 to 30 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of the total amount of the olefin-based polymer and the hydrogenated block copolymer.

Described herein is a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition containing an acrylic block copolymer (I) having a polymer block (A) containing methacrylic acid ester units and a polymer block (B) containing acrylic acid ester units which are derived from an acrylic acid ester (1) represented by the general formula CH&#x2550;CH&#x2014;COOR(1) (wherein Ris an organic group of 4 to 6 carbon atoms) and an acrylic acid ester (2) represented by the general formula CH&#x2550;CH&#x2014;COOR(2) (wherein Ris an organic group of 7 to 12 carbon atoms), the mass ratio (1)/(2) of said acrylic acid ester (1) to said acrylic acid ester (2) being 65/35 to 20/80. The tan &#x3b4; value of viscoelasticity of the acrylic block copolymer (I), as measured at a frequency of 1 Hz, is 1&#xd7;10to 1&#xd7;10in the range of 50 to 100&#xb0; C.

Acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive composition and pressure-sensitive adhesive products

[Object] To provide an acrylic block copolymer which can be used in an adhesive composition to give an excellent adhesive force, cohesive force, holding power, tack, and hot-melt coatability; and also to provide an adhesive composition containing such a block copolymer. [Solution] An acrylic block copolymer (I) contains at least two polymer blocks (A) containing methacrylic acid ester units and at least one polymer block (B) containing acrylic acid ester units, wherein the acrylic block copolymer (I) has structure of blocks (A)-(B)-(A), a weight average molecular weight (Mw) ranging from 30,000 to 100,000 and a melt viscosity of not more than 100,000 mPa&#xb7;s, the melt viscosity being measured at 100&#xb0; C. with a Brookfield viscometer.

Acrylic block copolymer and adhesive composition

Provided are an adhesive composition suitable for a hot-melt adhesive which has a low tack and which after adhering to an adherend and through heat treatment comes to have sufficient adhesive force; and an adhesive product using the adhesive composition. The hot-melt adhesive composition includes an acrylic block copolymer (I) having at least one polymer block (A) including methacrylic acid ester units and at least one polymer block (B) including acrylic acid ester units, wherein the acrylic acid ester units constituting the polymer block (B) contain an acrylic acid ester (1) represented by CH&#x2550;CH&#x2014;COOR(1) (wherein Ris an organic group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms) and an acrylic acid ester (2) represented by CH&#x2550;CH&#x2014;COOR(2) (wherein Ris an organic group having 4 to 12 carbon atoms), and a mass ratio (1)/(2) of the acrylic acid ester (1) to the acrylic acid ester (2) is 90/10 to 25/75.

Hot-melt adhesive composition

There are provided a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition which is excellent in durability, whitening resistance, hot-melt processability, pressure-sensitive adhesion properties, holding power at high temperatures, heat resistance, weathering resistance, compatibility with tackifying resins, low-temperature properties and transparency, is excellent also in balance of these properties and rarely suffers adhesion acceleration, and pressure-sensitive adhesive products using the pressure-sensitive adhesive composition. The pressure-sensitive adhesive composition comprises an acrylic block copolymer (I) having a polymer block (A) comprising methacrylic acid ester units and a polymer block (B) comprising acrylic acid ester units which are derived from an acrylic acid ester (1) represented by the general formula CH&#x2550;CH&#x2014;COOR(1) (wherein Ris an organic group of 4 to 6 carbon atoms) and an acrylic acid ester (2) represented by the general formula CH&#x2550;CH&#x2014;COOR(2) (wherein Ris an organic group of 7 to 12 carbon atoms), the mass ratio (1)/(2) of said acrylic acid ester (1) to said acrylic acid ester (2) being 65/35 to 20/80.

An adhesive containing a block copolymer having at least one structure represented by formula: -[A1]-[B/A2]-, where [A1] represents a polymer block composed of a structural unit derived from a methacrylic acid ester (A1), [B/A2] represents a copolymer block composed of a structural unit derived from an acrylic acid ester (B) and a structural unit derived from a methacrylic acid ester (A2), and the copolymer block [B/A2] has a gradient copolymer block section in which a copolymerization ratio of the methacrylic acid ester (A2) continuously increases from a section connected to the polymer block [A1]. The block copolymer has a total content of the structural units derived from the methacrylic acid ester (A1) and the methacrylic acid ester (A2) of 5% to 60% by mass, a weight-average molecular weight (Mw) of 30,000 to 300,000, and a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of 1.0 to 1.5.

Adhesive containing block copolymer

An object of the present invention is to provide a methacrylic resin composition which exhibits excellent flexibility, elasticity, impact resistance, and plasticity and moldability while transparency inherent to methacrylic resins is maintained. A methacrylic resin composition to be produced is composed of 10 to 99 parts by mass of a methacrylic resin (A) containing not less than 80 mass % of a methyl methacrylate unit and 90 to 1 part by mass of a block copolymer (B) containing 10 to 60 mass % of a methyl methacrylate polymer block (b1) and 90 to 40 mass % of an acrylate polymer block (b2) and having a refractive index of 1.485 to 1.495 (the total of (A) and (B) is 100 parts by mass).

There is provided a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition for optical films, which is excellent in heat resistance, weathering resistance and bleed resistance, which has an excellent balance of pressure-sensitive adhesion properties, such as adhesive strength, cohesive force and tack, the tack of which can be controlled, which is excellent in initial reworkability when it is used for applying an optical film to an adherend or applying a protective film to an optical film, and which further exhibits excellent adhesive durability by virtue of rise of adhesive strength when such a film as above in the applied state is kept over a long period of time after application or especially when the film in the applied state is exposed to high temperatures or moist heat. A pressure-sensitive adhesive composition containing a specific acrylic diblock copolymer (I) and a specific acrylic triblock copolymer (II) in a specific proportion and a pressure-sensitive adhesive for optical films using the pressure-sensitive adhesive composition as a base are produced.

Pressure-sensitive adhesive composition for optical films and pressure-sensitive adhesion type optical film

A non-crosslinking type adhesive composition for an optical film is provided that has excellent adhesion to a substrate, allows peeling to be carried out at a suitable peeling strength without leaving an adhesive residue, has excellent reworking properties, can maintain good adhesion properties for a long time, and has excellent durability. The adhesive composition for an optical film includes an acrylic triblock copolymer, which does not have an NCO functional group, and an isocyanate compound. The acrylic triblock copolymer (I), which is represented by the formula A1-B-A2, is formed by alkyl methacrylate polymer blocks A1 and A2 having a Tg of 100&#xb0; C. or more and an alkyl acrylate polymer block B having a Tg of &#x2212;20&#xb0; C. or less, wherein the content of the block B is 40 to 95 mass %, Mw is 50,000 to 300,000, and the molecular weight distribution is 1.0 to 1.5. Based on the mass of the solids in the adhesive composition, the content of the acrylic triblock copolymer (I) is 60 mass % or more, and the content of the isocyanate compound is 0.0015 mass % or more to less than 0.35 mass % in terms of NCO group content.

Adhesive composition for an optical film

A curable resin composition, which contains, with respect to 100 parts of an epoxy resin, 1 to 70 parts of an epoxy resin curing agent and 1 to 50 parts of an acrylic block copolymer, and the acrylic block copolymer contains (&#x3b1;) at least one polymer block A composed of a structural unit derived from an alkyl methacrylate and at least one polymer block B composed of a structural unit derived from an alkyl acrylate, has a weight average molecular weight (Mw) of 30,000 to 300,000 and a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of 1.5 or less, and contains 3 to 60 percent by mass of the polymer block A. In addition, a cured resin is formed from the above curable resin composition.

A pressure-sensitive adhesive contains an acrylic triblock copolymer (I) at not less than 60% by mass based on the total mass of all solids contained in the pressure-sensitive adhesive, the acrylic triblock copolymer being represented by the formula A1-B-A2 wherein: A1 and A2 are each independently an alkyl methacrylate polymer block having Tg of not less than 100&#xb0; C. and B is an acryl acrylate polymer block having Tg of not more than &#x2212;20&#xb0; C.; the content of the polymer block B is 50 to 95% by mass; Mw is in the range of 50,000 to 300,000; and the molecular weight distribution is in the range of 1.0 to 1.5. Preferably, the acrylic triblock copolymer (I) is a combination of an acrylic triblock copolymer (Ia) having Mw of 50,000 to less than 100,000 and an acrylic triblock copolymer (Ib) having Mw of 100,000 to 300,000, in a mass ratio (Ia):(Ib) of 45:55 to 75:25.
