A marine propulsion system includes a marine propulsion unit, a first battery for a starter of an engine, a second battery for an electric motor, a third battery for at least one of a plurality of devices in or on a marine vessel excluding the starter and the electric motor, and a charge amount acquisition controller configured or programmed to perform a control to acquire a charge amount of at least one of the first battery, the second battery, or the third battery based on a first power supplied from a power source to the first battery, the second battery, and the third battery, and a second power supplied from the first battery, the second battery, and the third battery to devices in or on the marine vessel.

Marine propulsion system and marine power supply system including a plurality of batteries

A marine power supply system includes a battery unit including a first battery to supply power to a starter that starts an engine, and a second battery to supply power to an electric motor, and a power distributor connected to the first battery and the second battery. The power distributor outputs a demand power amount of power required by the first battery to the first battery, and outputs at least a portion of surplus power to the second battery when a total demand power amount required by the battery unit includes the surplus power.

Marine power supply system and method for power control in marine propulsion system

In an outboard motor, a controller controls an electric motor. An output outputs a predetermined notification information in response to a notification command signal output from the controller. When the controller receives a shut-off signal indicating that a semiconductor fuse is off, the controller outputs the notification command signal and causes the output to output notification information. When the controller receives a recovery operation signal indicating a predetermined operation performed by a user from an operator in a state where the semiconductor fuse has turned off, the controller outputs a recovery command signal to the semiconductor fuse.

A trim-tilt device includes a first electric motor electrically connected to a power source and tilts an outboard motor body in an up-and-down direction. A steering device includes a second electric motor electrically connected to the power source. The steering device turns the outboard motor body in a right-and-left direction. A fuel pump is electrically connected to the power source, and supplies fuel to an engine. A controller limits an inrush current into the first electric motor using a PWM control for a predetermined period of time from a starting time point of an input current into the first electric motor.

A power supply system for a boat includes a generator, a rectifier circuit, a main electric system arranged to supply electric power to a control system that controls the boat propulsion system, the main electric system including a main battery, and an auxiliary electric system arranged to supply electric power to auxiliary equipment provided on the boat, the auxiliary electric system including an auxiliary battery. An operation signal supplied to an actuating device connected to the main electric system is detected, and in a case where it is decided, based on the detected signal, to prioritize the main electric system over the auxiliary electric system, current supply to the auxiliary electric system is restricted, to thereby attain a stable operation of the control system of the boat.

Power supply system for a boat

A battery charge control device for a marine vessel is arranged to control charging of a plurality of batteries, which include a main battery arranged to supply power for operating an engine of a propulsion device, and an accessory battery which is arranged to supply power for devices other than the engine. The main battery and the accessory battery are connected in parallel to a power generator attached to the engine. The charge control device includes a switching element arranged to short-circuit the power generator, a first control unit arranged to execute first control to short-circuit the power generator by driving the switching element when a voltage of the main battery exceeds a first upper limit, in a first control period, and a second control unit arranged to execute second control to short-circuit the power generator by driving the switching element when a voltage of the accessory battery exceeds a second upper limit, in a second control period which is longer than the first control period.

Battery charge control device and marine vessel including the same

A throttle valve opening control device for a watercraft engine includes a control section for controlling a valve drive section that drives the throttle valve based upon a signal from a remote controller operating position detecting means. The control section determines whether the operating position is in a trolling range or in a propelling range by the signal from the remote controller operating position detecting means. When the control section determines that the operating position is in the trolling range, the control section adjusts the throttle valve opening by an amount, relative to an operational amount of the remote controller, smaller than when the operating position is in the propelling range.

Throttle valve opening control device for a watercraft engine

A knocking control device for a watercraft engine includes a knocking learning value renewing section for changing a knocking learning value toward a low octane number ignition timing map when the knock sensor detects a knocking condition. The device changes the knocking learning value toward a high octane number ignition timing map when the knock sensor does not detect a knocking condition. An ignition timing determining section retards or advances an ignition timing based upon the knocking learning value given from the knocking learning value renewing section. The knocking learning value renewing section is constructed not to change the knocking learning value toward the high octane number ignition timing map, when an engine speed is in the vicinity of a full throttle condition.

Knocking control device for watercraft engine

A personal watercraft includes a hull and an engine. The hull defines an engine compartment and the engine is disposed within the engine compartment. A waterproof electrical component container is disposed in the engine compartment. The container can include two internal compartments, one being more water-tight than the other. The container can also include an aperture defined in one of the external surfaces of the container, through which an electrical component inside the container can be accessed when the aperture is open.
