A glass run includes a glass run section, a trim section and a molding section. The glass run section is formed of a soft material, the trim section is formed of a hard material and the molding section is formed of a hard material by injection molding. The molding section includes a head part and a leg part, and has a generally T-shaped cross-section. A bottom wall of the trim section and an outer side wall of the glass run section are integrally joined to an interior surface of the head part of the molding section, while sandwiching the leg part of the molding section. A side wall of the trim section, is integrally joined to one of side surfaces of the leg part, whereas a bottom wall of the glass run section is integrally joined to the other side surface of the leg part.

Glass run

A glass run includes an upper side portion, a front vertical portion, a rear vertical portion, a front corner portion, a rear corner portion and an ornamental molding portion. An upper end of the molding portion is integrally jointed to the rear corner portion, and a lower end of the ornamental molding portion extends obliquely so as to be positioned frontwardly of the rear corner portion. The ornamental molding portion includes a base part and an ornamental lip part. The base part and the ornamental lip part hold a tip end of an outer panel of the door frame. The ornamental lip part is formed such that an upper end thereof is formed continuously with an outer cover lip of the rear corner portion, and a lower end thereof contacts an outer weather strip.

In the mounting base section of a door weather strip, first and second mounting faces extend in the longitudinal direction while making a right angle with respect to each other. Between these mounting faces, there is provided a twisted face which continues from the first mounting face to the second mounting face. One piece of double-sided adhesive tape is continuously attached to the door weather strip from the first mounting face to the second mounting face via the twisted face, and these mounting faces and the twisted face are bonded to the door by the double-sided adhesive tape.

Structure for mounting door weather strip

A weather strip of a rubber material, provided with a sectionally U-shaped flange gripping portion having an insert buried therein, gripping lip portions formed inside, and seal portions integrated with the flange gripping portion. At least the gripping lip portions are formed of microfoam rubber in which the specific gravity of vulcanizate is in a range of from 0.9 to 1.0.

Weather strip

The sealant composition disclosed herein is favorable for sealing car parts. The sealant composition is charged inside the trim of a weather strip of a car so as to seal the gap between the trim and the plate flange as inserted inside the trim. The sealant composition comprises a liquid rubber as the base component, a tackifier and a thixotropy promoter as secondary components, and a nonvolatile plasticizer and/or a process oil as the dispersion medium.
