A motorcycle has a fuel tank disposed near the front end of a motor cycle body frame and positioned substantially upwardly of the body frame, a rider's seat disposed rearwardly of the fuel tank, and an engine disposed downwardly of the body frame. A receptacle for storing a crash helment, for example, is disposed rearwardly of the fuel tank, forwardly of the rider's seat, and upwardly of the engine. The receptacle is openable and closably by at least a portion of the rider's seat which is movable back and forth or pivotally movable about an end thereof.

A motorcycle has a head pipe, a pair of laterally spaced main frames extending rearwardly from the head pipe, and a receptacle supported on the main frames. In order to effectively utilize a space between the main frames, the receptacle has a bottom wall positioned between the main frames, the bottom wall having at least a portion positioned below a plane including an upper surface of the main frames.

A crash helmet storage device in a motorcycle having a front cowl having a portion covering at least an area in front of a handlebar of the motorcycle. The crash helmet storage device comprises a receptacle disposed in the front cowl and having an open front side, a front cover serving as a component of the front cowl and positioned in front of the receptacle, and a pair of side covers serving as other components of the front cowl and covering lateral sides of the receptacle. The front cover is separate from the side covers and act as a lid for selectively opening and covering the open front side of the receptacle.

Crash helmet storage device for motorcycles

A switch for detecting various angular positions of a motorcycle side stand bar is a rotary switch so arranged that a movable contact therein is moved with respect to stationary contacts in response to movement of the side stand bar whereby the position of the side stand bar can be detected while the switch can be advantageously positioned to permit greater freedom of switch design and installation and protection of the side stand pivot member. Various switch configurations and modes of attachment are disclosed, as well as various modes of electrical application of the switch in the operation of the vehicle.

Position detecting device for a motorcycle side stand

Guide walls are extended upwardly along the side edges of a front fender mounted between a pair of front forks of a two-wheeled or three-wheeled vehicle. These guide walls streamline the air flowing along the front fender and cause the volume of air flowing toward an engine installation position to be increased. Disturbance of air due to the front forks can be reduced to a minimum by these guide walls and outer plates which are branched from the guide walls so as to cover the outer portions of the front forks so that the air resistance can be decreased. The guide walls reinforce the front fender and give them rigidity sufficient to prevent vibration of the front fender when the two-wheeled or three-wheeled vehicle is running.
