A magnetic sensor includes a magnetic sensor chip that includes a magnetoresistive effect element and a sealed part. The magnetoresistive effect element includes a free layer and a pinned layer. The sealed part has a first surface and a second surface, which is opposite the first surface. The shape of the sealed part in the plan view from the first surface side is substantially quadrilateral. The substantially quadrilateral shape has a first side and a second side, which are substantially parallel to each other. In the plan view, from the first surface side of the sealed part, the magnetization direction of the pinned layer, in a state in which the external magnetic field is not applied on the magnetoresistive effect element, is inclined with respect to an approximately straight line found through the least squares method using a plurality of points arbitrarily set on the first side.

The current sensor comprises: a magnetic detecting device that is arranged in the vicinity of a conductor, to which a magnetic field to be measured induced by a current flowing through the conductor is applied, and that changes an electrical resistance in response to a change in the magnetic field to be measured; two coils that generate a canceling magnetic field to cancel the magnetic field to be measured and that are arranged in the vicinity of the magnetic detecting device; a shunt resistor, that is connected in series between the two coils, for detecting a current flowing through the coils; a first differential amplifier that amplifies the output signal of the magnetic detecting device and that supplies the current to induce the canceling magnetic field to the coils; and a second differential amplifier that amplifies the voltage across the shunt resistor and that outputs a measured voltage proportional to the current flowing through the conductor.

The ball screw device includes: a screw shaft having an N number (N is an integer equal to or larger than 2) of rolling grooves having the same lead; balls configured to roll in the rolling grooves; and a nut member, which is assembled to the screw shaft through intermediation of the balls, and includes one or a plurality of endless circulation paths configured to circulate the balls around the screw shaft. Each of the endless circulation paths of the nut member includes: an N number of load portions, which are configured to allow the balls to roll thereon while bearing a load, and correspond to the N number of rolling grooves, respectively; and an N number of no-load portions, which each couple adjacent ones of the load portions, and are configured to allow the balls to move between the N number of rolling grooves.

This makes it possible to announce the travel start of a low-noise vehicle such as an electrically powered vehicle, without making the surroundings feel unnatural.

The magnetic sensor of the invention comprises a base portion, a sensor chip positioned on the base portion, a wiring portion adapted to electrically connect a terminal of the sensor chip to a connecting lead, a resin having a low elastic modulus for coating at least the sensor chip, and a resin having a high elastic modulus for coating at least the low elastic-modulus resin and the wiring portion, wherein the sensor chip includes a magneto-resistive effect device, and the low elastic-modulus resin has an elastic modulus ranging from 10 kPa to 80 MPa while the high elastic-modulus resin has an elastic modulus of 1 GPa or more, and enables the sensor chip to perform well in a good state although having a structure of sealing up the sensor chip with the resin member.

A magnesium battery () is constituted of a negative electrode (), a positive electrode () and an electrolyte (). The negative electrode () is formed of metallic magnesium and can also be formed of an alloy. The positive electrode () is composed of a positive electrode active material, for example, a metal oxide, graphite fluoride ((CF)) or the like, etc. The electrolytic solution () is, for example, a magnesium ion-containing nonaqueous electrolytic solution prepared by dissolving magnesium(II) chloride (MgCl) and dimethylaluminum chloride ((CH)AlCl) in tetrahydrofuran (THF). In the case of dissolving and depositing magnesium by using this electrolytic solution, the following reaction proceeds in the normal direction or reverse direction.  According to this, there are provided a magnesium ion-containing nonaqueous electrolytic solution having a high oxidation potential and capable of sufficiently bringing out excellent characteristics of metallic magnesium as a negative electrode active material and a method for manufacturing the same, and an electrochemical device with high performances using this electrolytic solution.

A cathode includes a lithium transition metal complex compound including lithium, one, or two or more transition metals, magnesium, and oxygen as constituent elements. In a standardized X-ray absorption spectrum of the lithium transition metal complex compound measured by an X-ray absorption spectroscopic method, a first absorption edge having absorption edge energy E1 in X-ray absorption intensity of about 0.5 exits in a range where X-ray energy is from about 1303 eV to about 1313 eV both inclusive, in a discharged state in which a discharge voltage is about 3.0 V, and a second absorption edge having absorption edge energy E2 in X-ray absorption intensity of about 0.5 exits, in a charged state in which a charge voltage V is from about 4.3 V to about 4.5 V both inclusive. The absorption edge energies E1 and E2 and the charge voltage V satisfy a relation of E2&#x2212;E1&#x2267;(V&#x2212;4.25)&#xd7;4.

In one example embodiment, a core-shell type platinum-containing catalyst is allowed to reduce the amount of used platinum and has high catalytic activity and stability. In one example embodiment, the core-shell type platinum-containing catalyst includes a core particle (with an average particle diameter R) made of a non-platinum element and a platinum shell layer (with an average thickness t) satisfying 1.4 nm&#x2266;R&#x2266;3.5 nm and 0.25 nm&#x2266;t&#x2266;0.9 nm. The core particle includes an element satisfying E&#x2267;3.0 eV, where average binding energy relative to the Fermi level of 5d orbital electrons of platinum present on an outermost surface of the shell layer is E. In a fuel cell including a platinum-containing catalyst which contains a Ru particle as a core particle, the output density at a current density of 300 mA/cmis 70 mW/cmor over, and an output retention ratio is approximately 90% or over.

The magnetic reproducing method comprises the steps of: heating a head element for reading data signals which has a noise in its output due to a low temperature; and performing a read operation by using the head element for reading data signals under condition that the head element is increased in temperature.
