Drum

A chair having a seat plate supported by legs, the seat plate having a top side with two concaves therein below where a seated person's hip bones project and optionally an additional concave rearward of the two concaves and below where the seated person's coccyx projects. The positions of the concaves are selected to be where a performer on a drum is likely to be seated when playing a drum while seated. The two concaves may be circular or may be elongated in the forward-rearward direction. The seat plate may be circular or it may be a bicycle seat shaped with downward and outward sloping concaves for the femoral thigh regions at the sides and toward the front.

Chair for a drum

To adjust the tension on the snare of a drum head, one end of the snare is supported to an adjustment device, including a base on the drum trunk, a slide guided for movement vertically along the base and the snare is attached to the movable slide. First and second switches are pivotable on the base between off and on positions. Two shafts are attached to the slide. A respective link leads from each switch to a lifting member on the shaft and moving up of the switch moves the lifting member to raise the shaft to raise the slide to a varying extent depending upon the height of an adjustment nut on each of the shaft. The nuts on the two share adjustable for setting high tension and low tension on the snare.

Snare strainer for a snare drum

A pipe linkage between a larger diameter pipe and a smaller diameter pipe installed in the larger pipe. A compressible bush at the inserted end of the smaller pipe is compressed by a bolt and swollen to adhere in the smaller pipe and a larger diameter exposed collar on the bush will contact the interior of the larger pipe, precluding metal noise generation upon relative tilting of the pipes.

To prevent the holding arms on a snare drum holder from interfering with either lug bolts on the side of a drum body or a snappy connected below the drum body, there are three snare drum support arms which extend from an upper annular member and are spaced at the unequal angles, not at 120 degrees, so that the arms supporting the snare drum do not pass over or interfere with either the lug bolts or the snappy. The snare drum holding arms are additionally supported by connecting links connected to a lower annular member which is movable along the post on which the upper annular member is held, collapsing or raising the arms for the drum as the lower annular member is moved up and down. The tilt angle of the snare drum holding arms is also adjustable at the post supporting the holder.

Holding structure for a snare drum

To connect a large and a small diameter pipe, a pipe connector has a tightening bush with a cut through it and is compressed around the pipe and has a main body with a receptacle for the tightening bush. The tightening bush has first axial ribs on a circumferential region of the periphery. The main body receptacle has cooperating complementary second internal ribs engaged by the first ribs so that as the bush is tightened, it does not rotate in the receptacle. A large pipe holder extends down from the receptacle for the bush and receives the large diameter pipe. An auxiliary bush may be disposed inside the large pipe in the radial space between the large and small diameter pipes.

A support leg for a base drum including a base fastened to the drum body, an inside member rotatably positionable with respect to the base, an outside member pivoted to the inside member the inside and outside members being clampable together to clamp a leg between them, and a threaded shaft with a nut for tightening the inside holding member to the base and clamping the inside member at a selected rotative orientation with respect to the base, whereby loosening of the clamping arrangement enables the length position of the leg to be adjusted and loosening the tightening nut enables the rotative orientation of the leg to be adjusted.

A structure for confirming the adjusted position of a drum pedal, wherein the drum pedal includes a support for a beater rotary shaft, a beater on the rotary shaft and a pedal connected by a sprocket and chain to rotate the shaft. A cam fixed on the protruding end of the shaft is urged by a spring to a standard orientation for the cam and the shaft. The rotary orientation of the cam on the shaft determines the initial spacing of the beater from the drumhead and the initial position of the pedal plate. A display member disposed on the part of the shaft that protrudes beyond the cam has a display scale which matches a standard position indicator on the cam to indicate the angular extent to which the shaft is rotated from a standard or initial orientation and therefore the extent to which the beater is initially off the drumhead and the extent to which the pedal plate is off a standard orientation.

Structure for confirming the adjusted position of a drum pedal

A cymbal holder including: a support member having an installation hole; a holding rod installed in the hole, the rod having a tool holding lower region above the installation hole and having a screw threaded upper region; a tubular, cymbal receiving tool with a tubular part disposed around the holding rod and having a radially projecting receiving part intermediate its length; a cymbal on the tubular part of the tool; a lower elastic member between the receiving part on the tubular part of the tool and the cymbal; an upper elastic member above the cymbal and held by a nut tightened on the screw thread of the rod; the cymbal receiving part is intermediate the length of the tubular part of the cymbal receiving tool so that the cymbal receiving tool is adapted to be installed with either of its side portions above the receiving part being up or down, so that the tool can be inverted as required.

Cymbal holder with vibration damping

An electric guitar which is equipped with a piezo pickup wherein the lengths of the strings are not changed by the rotation of the main saddle body in connection with fine tuning and during tremolo performance. The electric guitar has a piezo pickup and has a main saddle body that is held so as to be rotatably adjustable in a back and forth direction about an axle. The main saddle body is held pivotally by a saddle holding member on a base plate on the guitar body. The base plate is installed so as to freely swing with respect to the surface of the guitar body to provide a tremolo effect. The top surface of the piezo pickup constantly contacts the string that is held by the main saddle body, at least during fine tuning, by rotatable adjustment of the main saddle body and in the possible swinging range of the base plate during a tremolo performance, thereby avoiding an out of tune situation during the tremolo performance.

Carrying case

A backrest for a chair, particularly a drum performance chair, which backrest can be adjusted both in height and in tilt angle with respect to the seat. The backrest has two upright arms. A base body is fixed to the chair seat. The base body has an upstanding part. A holder is supported on the upstanding part of the base body. The holder includes an arm sliding part which engage the backrest arms. The arm holder is pivotable about an axis. A holding plate is screw tightened selectively for holding the arms of the backrest at the selected height or loosened to permit the arms of the backrest to be changed in height. A front and back adjusting screw extending from the holder has a contact part that engages the base body. The degree of tightening of the adjusting screw with respect to the holder determines the tilt angle of the holder and the backrest.

Backrest structure of a chair, particularly a drum chair

A strap clip useful for example for attaching a strap to the body of a musical instrument. The strap is U-shaped and includes an installation seat screwed to the body of the instrument, an upstanding strap hook part and an insertion part for being inserted into a cut in the strap. The cut in the strap is elongated along the strap and also has a wider region where the hook part of the clip is received. The insertion part is wider than the hook part, so that the insertion part holds the hook part of the U-shaped clip in the cut in the strap. The tip of the insertion part is bent downward toward the installation seat.

Strap clip for musical instrument

An installation structure for a high hat cymbal having upper and lower cymbals which are held compressed against each other. A respective elastic member is disposed above the upper cymbal and below the lower cymbal. A pressure applying device applies differential pressure on the elastic member of the upper cymbal for adjusting the compression of the cymbals together. The pressure applying device includes a pivotable plate having edge regions at different radii from the transverse pivot axis of the plate, and a functional member that is pressed upon by the selected edge region of the pivotable plate selectively adjusts the force applied to the elastic members. The various members holding the cymbals, the elastic members and the pressure applying device on the installation rod are disclosed.

Installation structure of high hat cymbal

In a bridge mechanism for a guitar, the bridge main body having a recess for the saddle and an intermediate member between at least one side of the saddle and the recess. A respective recess or concave primarily in the intermediate member directly beneath where each string passes the saddle, and second regions between the depression where the intermediate member contacts the saddle, thereby to reduce transmission of vibration of the strings to the bridge body and direct the vibrations to a pick up disposed below the saddle. In alternate embodiments, the depressions are on the saddle, there is an intermediate member on both sides of the saddle. All the depressions are in the surfaces of the recess facing the saddle.
