A printing apparatus includes: a printing section; a print conveyor conveying a medium in the printing section; a constant-speed conveyor conveying the medium at a variable constant conveying speed in a circulation route for duplex printing; a registration roller pair against which the medium to be conveyed to the printing section is caused to abut; and a processor determining a conveyance schedule for the medium based on at least one of a first conveyance route length between a downstream end portion in a conveying direction of the print conveyor and an upstream end portion in the conveying direction of the constant-speed conveyor and a second conveyance route length between a downstream end portion in the conveying direction of the constant-speed conveyor and the registration roller pair, and a medium length in the conveying direction of the medium.

Printing apparatus

A conveyance control apparatus includes a stacking base that stacks ejected paper sheets, a sensor that detects a paper sheet after the paper sheet is ejected according to job data before the paper sheet is stacked on the stacking base, a detection time measuring unit that measures sensor-on time during which the sensor detects the paper sheet, a storage unit that stores near-full-stack time for judging whether stacked volume on the stacking base enters into a near-full-stack state, a judging unit that judges stack state on the stacking base based on paper sheet information of the job data and a measured result by the detection time measuring unit, and a conveyance control unit that performs control to temporarily stop paper sheet feeding and then to feed predetermined number of paper sheets, when the judging unit judges that the sensor-on time is equal to or greater than the near-full-stack time.

Conveyance control apparatus

A printer which is connected to a post-processing apparatus, the post-processing apparatus performing a wrapped binding in which a paper sheet bundle including a plurality of inner paper sheets is wrapped by outer paper sheets, and which prints the outer paper sheets and inner paper sheets to be sent out to the post-processing apparatus, wherein the printer includes a control unit configured to control printing of the inner paper sheets and the outer paper sheets in cooperation with the post-processing apparatus, and the control unit is configured to set printing restart information of inner paper sheets and printing restart information of outer paper sheets, and controls a restarting of printing in accordance with the setting, when printing is restarted after an abnormal conveyance that occurred inside of the post-processing apparatus has been resolved.

When a printing conveyance speed at a printing unit is changed, if a length of a printing paper sheet in the conveyance direction thereof is smaller than an inter-unit conveyance distance, which is set in advance, between the printing unit and a post-processing unit, only a printing suspending operation at the printing unit is performed, and a post-processing suspending operation at the post-processing unit is not performed. On the other hand, if the length of the printing paper sheet in the conveyance direction thereof is equal to or greater than the inter-unit conveyance distance, both the printing suspending operation at the printing unit and the post-processing suspending operation at the post-processing unit are performed. In this manner, the post-processing suspending operation is omitted depending on the length of the printing paper sheet in the conveyance direction thereof.

An image forming apparatus having a plurality of paper ejection devices includes a control unit which performs control to allow before a paper ejection device, which is continuously ejecting paper in the plurality of paper ejection devices, ejects paper over the maximum loading a paper ejection device which is not ejecting paper to prepare for starting an operation based on the time taken for the paper ejection device which is not ejecting paper to become operable and the number of ejectable sheets before a loading of the paper ejection device which is continuously ejecting paper reaches the maximum loading.
