Disclosed is an iron-based superconducting wire comprising a tubular material formed mainly from iron, and an iron-based superconductor formed in the tubular material, wherein the iron-based superconductor contains the iron forming the tubular material as a chemical constituent element of the iron-based superconductor.

Iron-based superconducting wire and method for producing the same

The invention provides an iron-based superconducting substance capable of bringing about superconductivity without using any toxic elements. The iron-based superconducting substance includes a composition wherein an FeTe alloy is doped with sulfur in such a way as to satisfy the following formula 1.Fe(TeS)where 0&#x3c;x&#x3c;1, and 0.8&#x3c;y&#x2266;1 &#x2003;&#x2003;Formula 1The iron-based superconducting substance takes a tetragonal PbO structure with a space group P4/nmm.

Iron-based superconducting substance

A heavily boron-doped diamond thin film having superconductivity is deposited by chemical vapor deposition using gas mixture of at least carbon compound and boron compound, including hydrogen. An advantage of the diamond thin film deposited by the chemical vapor deposition is that it can contain boron at high concentration, especially in (111) oriented films. The boron-doped diamond thin film deposited by the chemical vapor deposition shows the characteristics of typical type II superconductor.
