An insulation displacement connection contact has a base plate extending along a longitudinal axis and having a mating end and an opposite terminating end. The base plate has a contacting portion positioned proximate to the mating end, a plate-like wire supporting portion integrally extending outward from the base plate at the terminating end, and an insulation displacement connection member positioned between the contacting portion and the wire supporting portion, proximate to the terminating end.

Insulation displacement contact and connector

An electrical connector assembly is provided with a plug connector and a receptacle connector. The plug connector includes a housing and a plurality of conductive plug terminals arranged along a row in the housing. The receptacle connector includes a receptacle housing, a plurality of conductive receptacle terminals arranged along a row in the receptacle housing by an equidistance pitch, and a solder peg having a contact portion arranged along the row of the plurality of conductive receptacle terminals at a distance equal to the equidistance pitch.

Electrical connector assembly and electrical connector used therefor

An electrical connector for flat cables has an insulative housing, contacts and a shield member. The insulative housing is mountable onto a circuit board having a conductive pad. The contacts are disposed in the insulative housing for contacting a shield of a flat cable to be inserted into the connector. The shield member is mounted on the insulative housing so as to substantially cover the outer surfaces thereof and electrically connect the shield of the flat cable to the conductive pad of the circuit board when the shield member is mounted on the insulative housing.
