Provided are a method and an apparatus for inactivating bacteria or viruses attached to an object while suppressing generation of a strange odor. The method for inactivating bacteria or viruses includes a step (a) of irradiating with ultraviolet light having an optical output at a specific wavelength in a range of 200 nm to 235 nm. The step (a) is a step of irradiating with the ultraviolet light is performed so that an irradiance (X) [mW/cm] (X&#x3e;0) and an integrated irradiation dose within two hours (Y) [mJ/cm] satisfy the following formula (1)0&#x3c;&#x3c;10.704&#x2003;&#x2003;(1).

Method for inactivating bacteria or viruses and inactivating apparatus for bacteria or viruses

A testing device equipped with: a microchip having a receiver for a test fluid, a discharge lamp which emits light into the microchip test fluid receiver, a light source housing in which the discharge lamp is located, and an arithmetic calculation mechanism, which calculates the concentration of the component to be detected, based on the intensity of the light emitted from the test fluid container unit. To reduce the size of the device and to shield the arithmetic calculation mechanism from electromagnetic waves generated around the light source, the light source housing is equipped with shielding connected to the ground on the outside of the light source housing made of insulating material. The light source housing is positioned within an enclosure of the testing device holding the microchip and containing the arithmetic calculation mechanism, analysis output device(s), and other components of the testing device.

To devise an incandescent bulb for a motor vehicle with a new arrangement which can withstand vibration during driving of a motor vehicle to a sufficient degree, an envelope is provided with a unilateral sealed portion which is preferably made of a glass that has quartz as the main component; at least two feed lines extend as inner leads into the envelope; and at least one filament coil of which the main component is tungsten and which forms an emission part, has one end connected to one of the lines and the other end connected to the other of the feed lines, and the filament coil has a spring constant of at least 25 g/mm and a weight of at most 100 mg. Furthermore, advantageously, the inner leads are made of a material of which the main component is molybdenum, and the diameter of the inner leads is at least 0.48 mm.

Incandescent bulb for a motor vehicle

A filament lamp for an emission of yellow light, with a color film which is formed on the surface of the bulb, where the color film is essentially composed of a combined oxide of titanium, nickel and antimony. The color film may have a ratio of titanium, nickel and antimony to one another in a weight ratio of 5.6 to 8.6:3.6 to 6.6:1.0 to 1.8. Also, the color film may be a sintered coating formed by admixing a solution A produced by dissolving a nickel salt and an antimony salt in an organic solvent, addition of a titanium alkoxide and reaction of the reaction mixture; and addition of a stabilizer which forms a chelate with titanium with a solution B produced in substantially the same manner as solution A. The solutions A and B contain nickel nitrate-6-hydrate, antimony trioxide, tetraisopropoxy titanium, acetyl acetone, and/or water.
