A mirror-housing positioning device for a car rearview mirror includes a stationary member connected to a base provided in the rearview mirror, which is to be fixed to the body of a car, a rotary member held rotatably on the stationary member and connected to the mirror housing having a mirror unit of the rearview mirror assembled therein, a driving mechanism including a motor and a group of reversely rotatable gears and disposed between the stationary member and rotary member to rotate the rotary member, a mechanism provided between the rotary member and stationary member to block the rotary member from being rotated when the mirror housing is turned to any of predetermined positions, and a mechanism inhibiting the gear group from being rotated when the rotary member is blocked against rotation. The gear-group rotation inhibiting mechanism includes a first gear component forming a part of one gear in the gear group and having teeth meshed with an adjacent gear, a second gear component forming a part of the one gear in the gear group and having teeth meshed with another adjacent gear, and an elastic member which forces the first gear component to the second gear component. The first gear component has projections formed in an area thereof facing the second gear component, and the second gear component has formed therein circular concavities in which the projections of the first gear component are fitted. The elastic member maintains the projections fitted in the circular concavities.

Motor-driven foldable type door mirror

A center shaft is erected from a base fixed to the car body. When a planet gear driven by a motor runs round a sun gear fixed to the center shaft, a mirror housing can be swung. The mirror housing is supported at both ends of the center shaft and a driver system comprises plural stepped gears attached to two parallel shafts, respectively, in series and engaged with one another.

Electrically swingable door mirror

A mirror housing for holding a mirror is automatically swung and collapsed by remote operation in the car. The mirror housing supported by a base is swung round a fixed shaft and shifted to a predetermined position by a drive mechanism which includes a drive motor, speed reducer mechanism and the like.

An ash tray for vehicle having outer and inner casings provided with a protector fitted on the outer casing, which protector can be in co-operation with the inner casing under the actuation of a spring, so as to cover the front of the instrument panel by stopping the outward movement thereof in an intermediate position of the inner casing. Consequently, the front of the instrument panel can be protected from burning or fire. Moreover, the protector does not at all obstruct the removal of accumulated butts when cleaning the inner casing.
