According to an embodiment, a gas insulation apparatus (e.g., a gas circuit breaker) includes a high-voltage unit, a zeolite and an insulation gas in a closed vessel. The insulation gas is COgas or a gas including COgas as the main component. The zeolite is contained in a zeolite case and is placed under an insulation gas atmosphere. COis adsorbed on the zeolite before use of the gas insulation apparatus.

Gas insulation apparatus

Disclosed is a gas insulated switchgear constituted such that electrical contacts are placed inside a sealed vessel filled with an arc extinguishing gas, and when electrical current passes, the electrical contacts are held in contact and pass electricity, and when the current is interrupted, the electrical contacts are separated and an arc discharge is produced in the arc extinguishing gas, and the current is interrupted by extinguishing this arc. The arc extinguishing gas is a mixed gas, the main constituents of which are Ngas and CHgas, and the CHcontent is at least 30%. Alternatively, the arc extinguishing gas is a mixed gas, the main constituents of which are COgas and CHgas, and the CHcontent is at least 5%.

Gas insulated switchgear

A highly heat-resistant fluororesin, such as tetrafluoroethylene resin or tetrafluoroethylene-perfluoroalkyl vinyl ether copolymer, is filled with 0.5 to 1 weight % of a non-black insulating pigment that has a heat resistance such that discoloration does not occur when the fluororesin is baked. Green insulating pigment whose main component is a TiO&#x2014;CoO&#x2014;NiO&#x2014;ZnO system or a ZnO&#x2014;CoO system, or blue insulating pigment whose main component is a CoO&#x2014;AlOsystem or a CoO&#x2014;AlO&#x2014;CrOsystem is used singly or in a combination, as the non-black insulating pigment. A highly arc-resistant insulator is provided that secures an insulating capacity and at the same time that secures an excellent ability to prevent both interior and exterior deterioration of the insulator and that avoids color heterogeneity and localized discoloration.

A voltage non-linear resistor unit is composed of at least one of voltage non-linear resistors which is composed of a columnar sintered body formed by molding and sintering a raw material, the sintered body having both end surfaces having a surface roughness in term of arithmetic average surface roughness Ra of 1 to 2 &mgr;m and being formed with an electrode film layer, a terminal metal fitting formed in a predetermined shape and attached to the voltage non-linear resistor, and a soldering material arranged between the voltage non-linear resistors and between joint surfaces of the voltage non-linear resistor and the terminal metal fitting, the joint surfaces being joined by heating the soldering material and applying a load vertically to the joint surfaces while giving a rotation motion thereto. Such voltage non-linear resistor is effectively assembled into an arrester.
