An X-ray image capturing apparatus includes: scanning and signal lines; an X-ray sensor; detecting elements; a switching element to make charges accumulated in response to an OFF voltage and released in response to an ON voltage; a scan driving unit to switch a voltage applied to the scanning lines between ON and OFF voltages; a readout circuit to read the charges as image data; and a control circuit to detect an irradiation start by a first scheme based on a current increase due to X-ray irradiation or a second scheme based on an output from the X-ray sensor and to turn off the switching element to make charges accumulated if the first or second scheme detects the irradiation start, wherein a detection threshold is set such that the second scheme has a slower response and can detect an X-ray at a lower dose rate than the first scheme.

A radiographic apparatus includes: a plurality of detection elements arranged in a two-dimensional fashion; at least one radiation sensor configured to change a signal value to be output, when radiation is emitted thereto; and an irradiation start detecting unit configured to determine whether X-ray emission from an X-ray generator has been started based on the signal value output from the radiation sensor, wherein, when the signal value output from the radiation sensor moves out of a predetermined range, the irradiation start detecting unit does not determine whether the signal value output from the radiation sensor is a signal value outside the predetermined range at least, and when the number of times the signal value output from the radiation sensor moves out of the predetermined range reaches a predetermined number, the irradiation start detecting unit detects a start of X-ray emission from the X-ray generator.

The radiographic image photographing system includes an information acquisition member which acquires information on the radiographic image photographing device from an information presentation member of the radiographic image photographing device in a non-contact manner. In the portable radiation image capturing apparatus multiple image capturing elements are two-dimensionally arranged, the apparatus is provided with a current detecting means for detecting a current flowing in the apparatus, a read-out circuit having a power supply mode in which the charge generated in each image capturing element can be read out and converted into an electric signal and a stand-by mode in which charge is not read out and power is consumed less than in the power supply mode, and a control means for causing the read-out circuit to change from the stand-by mode to the power supply mode when detecting start of irradiation with radiation on the basis of an increase in the current value detected by the current detecting means while the read-out circuit is in the stand-by mode.

A control section of a tag reader reads out inherent information stored in a tag in a radiation image detecting device. The system further includes a plurality of controlling terminal devices, each of which displays a radiation image; a communication information attaching section to attach communication information to the radiation image data; an access point that is correlated with corresponding one of the controlling terminal devices, and transfers the radiation image data, which is received by the wireless communication section in the wireless communication mode within a predetermined area of a radiographing room, into the network; and a correlation controlling section that correlates the radiographic image detecting device with the corresponding one of the controlling terminal devices so as to establish a correlation establishment between them, based on the communication information.
