The present invention relates to a toner development device for an electrophotographic copying machine and aims to attain a reproduced image without uneven thickness by stirring developers composed of toner and carrier and feeding the developers mixed uniformly in the longitudinal direction along a photosensitive drum. An electrostatic latent image produced on the photosensitive drum is made to be visible in contact with the developers retained in a brushlike state by magnetic force of a magnet roller thereon. The developers, of which a part of the toner is spent, is scraped off by the primary scraper of a scraping means, which is arranged so as to contact slidingly with the magnet roller. To the primary scraper, the secondary scraper is fixed for its fixed position to be adjusted forwards and rearwards in order to distribute the toner uniformly in the toner development device. The developers scraped off can be returned more to somewhat insufficient portions and less to somewhat excessive portions in a stirring means composed of a plurality of screw rollers through the outer edge of the secondary scraper of which position adjusted accordingly.

A cooling device is provided for a light source in a copying machine, wherein the generation of air seemingly waving due to heat is prevented by effectively cooling a lamp body for lighting an original effectively in order to obviate the deterioration of an optical image. Light pervious heat-shield members are disposed at suitable intervals in an irradiation opening of the lamp body accommodating light source bulb and a reflector therewithin so as to enable blowing of ambient air past and between these members. At least the member positioned at the side of the light source bulb is composed of a heat-ray absorption glass. Air flow is guided through the chamber accommodating the light source bulb so that it may perform a forced air cooling of the inside of the lamp body in order to prevent the generation of the air waving due to heat from the lamp.

A photographic fixing apparatus in which photosensitive material to be fixed is fed between upper and lower inclined guideplates, preferably in the form of a plurality of parallel rods, with the lower plate being transparent and with both plates being ventilated to permit the passage of air therethrough. A halogen fixing heater with a quartz filter colored to filter out wavelengths of light to which the photosensitive material is sensitive being provided below the lower guide plate and with a blower being provided to blow air from below the guide plates through the guide plates to maintain photosensitive material passing between the guide plates out of contact with the lower guide plate.
