According to an embodiment, a high-speed transmission device includes a substrate, a control device on the substrate, a first connector, a second connector; and a cable assembly between the first connector and the second connector. The first connector is disposed at a position near the control device on the substrate and electrically connected to the control device via the substrate. The second connector is disposed at a position away from the control device on the substrate and equipped with an apparatus for transmitting/receiving a signal to and from the control device. The cable assembly includes a cable row, a paddle card substrate and a first conductive resin cover. Cables each transmitting a differential signal are arranged side by side in the cable row. The cables each comprise an internal conductor and an external conductor.

To prevent both increase in impedance and a short circuit, a connector cable is configured such that a connector and a shielded cable are connected via a relay substrate. The shielded cable includes at least an inner conductor, a dielectric covering the inner conductor, and a shield member covering the dielectric. The inner conductor is connected to a contact of the connector at a part where the shield member and the dielectric are removed to expose the inner conductor. At least directly under a part where the shield member is removed to expose the dielectric, a ground (GND) conductor layer on a front surface of the relay substrate is arranged. The GND conductor layer on the front surface of the relay substrate, which is arranged directly under the part where the shield member is removed, is covered with an insulating member.

A connector is mountable on a mount object in an up-down direction and connectable with a mating connector along a predetermined direction perpendicular to the up-down direction. The mating connector comprises a mating fitting portion and a male screw member. The connector comprises a fitting portion and a screw end accommodation portion. The fitting portion is mateable with the mating fitting portion. The screw end accommodation portion defines an accommodation space which accommodates an end of the male screw member when the connector is connected with the mating connector. The screw end accommodation portion has at least a front surface portion, an upper surface portion, a rear surface portion and an outer surface portion. The front surface portion is provided with a female screw portion which is connectable with the male screw member. The accommodation space is positioned between the front surface portion and the rear surface portion in the predetermined direction.

Connector and connector assembly

A connector includes a connector main, a male screw member and a screw holding member. The connector main selectively connectable with a mating connector having a female screw portion and another mating connector having no female screw portion in a predetermined direction. The screw holding member holds the male screw member. The screw holding member has a male screw seat which is brought into contact with a female screw seat when the male screw member is connected with the female screw portion. The screw holding member is attached to the connector main and relatively moveable with respect to the connector main in the predetermined direction.

A connector comprises a movable member and an operating member and is mateable with a mating connector. The movable member is movable between a front position and a rear position of a movement range. The operating member is movable between a front position and a rear position of an operation range and is movable relative to the movable member. The mated state of the connector is locked when the operating member is positioned at the front position of the operation range and when the movable member is positioned at the front position of the movement range. The mated state is unlocked when the operating member is positioned rearward of the front position of the operation range by a predetermined distance and when the movable member is positioned at the front position of the movement range.

A connector including a first connector element and a second connector element that are coupled into a single unit, in which the first connector element has an engagement projection that projects interior of the first connector element and extends in the direction of the depth of the first connector element so that the front end of the engagement projection is spacedly apart from the front edge of the first connector element, and the second connector element is formed with an engagement slit that extends in the direction of depth of the second connector element and engages with the engagement projection of the first connector element.

In a connector for being connected to a plurality of wires, a plurality of contacts are held by a housing and arranged in parallel in a first direction. The contacts have connecting portions to be connected to the wires. The connector includes an aligning member for aligning and holding the wires. The aligning member defines a plurality of through holes arranged in parallel in the first direction and extending in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The through holes allow the connecting portions to be inserted therethrough. The aligning member includes a comb-like portion formed at one end in a third direction perpendicular to the first and the second directions and adapted to hold the wires, and a plurality of positioning portions formed at the other end in the third direction and arranged in parallel in the first direction. The positioning portions are for positioning the wires.

Electrical connector which has a wire aligning function and which can be reduced in size

In a connector for connecting a mating connector to a connection object, an insulator holds a first contact terminal and a second contact terminal which is removable from the insulator. The first contact terminal has an outer contacting portion to be contacted to the mating connector, a mounting terminal portion to be connected to the connection object, and a spring portion connected between the outer contacting portion and the mounting terminal portion. The spring portion is elastically displaceable within the insulator. The second contact terminal makes contact with the spring portion to serve as a stub terminal when the outer contacting portion is brought into press-contact with the mating connector.

Connectors for connecting mating connectors to connection objects

A connector comprises contact pins, an insulator and a supplementary insulator. Each of the contact pins comprises a supported portion and a contact end. The insulator comprises accommodation portions which accommodate the respective contact pins. Each of the accommodation portions is provided with a supporting portion which includes a supporting surface and supports the supported portion of the corresponding contact pin. The supplementary insulator is fixedly held by the insulator. At least one part of the supported portion of the contact pin is placed between the supporting surface and the supplementary insulator in a Z-direction. Therefore, the supported portion always straightly extends in a Y-direction so that the contact end can be surely positioned at a predetermined position.
