There are disclosed an elastic member for an ink-jet recording apparatus which member is composed of a material comprising at least one copolymer (thermoplastic elastomer) constituted of at least one polymer block containing a vinyl aromatic compound as an principal component and at least one polymer block containing a conjugated diene compound as an principal component, the material further having 1-50 parts by weight of a polyolefin resin and 1-500 parts by weight of a softening agent based on 100 parts by weight of the copolymer. The elastic member is well suited for use in an ink tank as an ink tank valve for supplying a recording head with the ink to be filled in the ink chamber, for use as a sealing member which is installed at an ink supply port and prevents the ink from leaking through the ink supply port, and further for use as a sealing member which is installed on the main body of the ink-jet recording apparatus and prevents the ink from leaking through the recording head.

There is provided a rubber track used for an undercarriage of a vehicle, and particularly an improvement in a guide lug which protrudes from an inner peripheral surface of the rubber track. In the rubber track in which a plurality of rubber lugs are formed on an outer peripheral surface of an endless rubber elastic body and a plurality of guide lugs are formed on an inner peripheral surface of the elastic body, the guide lugs being used for transmission of driving force or prevention of detracking between the guide lugs, and track rollers, idlers or sprockets, a heat-resisting thermoplastic resin member having low friction properties, a heat-resisting thermosetting resin member having low friction properties, or a resin member having a Barcol hardness (A type) of 40 degrees or less is exposed at one or more surfaces of each of the guide lugs, the surface or surfaces contacting other member.

Rubber track

A seismic isolation apparatus which has a composite multilayered member comprising a plurality of hard plates having rigidity and a plurality of soft plates having viscoelastic property which are arranged to form alternating layers between an upper flange and a lower flange; and satisfies the condition that the proper vibration to the horizontal direction of the seismic isolation apparatus which is represented by f.sub.H and obtained by the equation ##EQU1## wherein K.sub.H represents a spring constant of the seismic isolation apparatus to the horizontal direction, M represents mass of a structure mounted on the seismic isolation apparatus, and f.sub.H has a value in the range of: 0.1 Hz.ltoreq.f.sub.H .ltoreq.2 Hz when the displacement of the seismic isolation apparatus in the horizontal direction is 2 mm or less, 0.1 Hz.ltoreq.f.sub.H .ltoreq.0.8 Hz when the displacement of the seismic isolation apparatus in the horizontal direction is equal to 100% shearing strain, and 0.9 Hz.ltoreq.f.sub.H when deformation in terms of shearing strain is relaxed by 10% from the maximum deformation in measurement of a hysteresis loop of the seismic isolation apparatus. The seismic isolation apparatus has the function of seismic isolation, prevention of shake by wind, and isolation of traffic vibration and is advantageously used for structures having a light weicht, such as single family houses.

Seismic isolation device

A first air bag comprises an upper cloth and a lower cloth, the peripheries of the both cloths being connected, characterized in that the upper cloth consists of an airtight sheet obtained by weaving a composite fiber composed of a filament core and a thermoplastic polymer bonded thereto-which has a melting point lower than that of said filament core, and then fusing said thermoplastic polymer so that the surface of said upper cloth has a continuous thermoplastic polymer layer. A second air bag consists of a membranous material having a breaking extension of 100% or more. A third air bag comprises an elastomer body and a shape-retaining member partially attached to the elastomer body, said member being composed of elastic fibers or threads and high-modulus fibers.

A paper feed roll is formed of a rubber composition comprising (A) a composite material having a low molecular weight material retained in a medium material and (B) a rubber material. The low molecular weight material has a viscosity of up to 5.times.10.sup.5 centipoise at 100.degree. C. The difference in solubility parameter between the low molecular weight material and the medium material is up to 3.0. The weight ratio of the low molecular weight material to the medium material is at least 1.0. The difference in solubility parameter between the low molecular weight material and the rubber material is up to 4.0. A paper feed apparatus comprising the paper feed roll is also provided.

A polymeric reticulated structure is prepared by mixing an ethylene-propylene copolymer having an ethylene content of at least 60% by weight or a thermoplastic block copolymer terminated with a crystalline ethylene block with a low molecular weight material. A blend of high-molecular and a low-molecular organic material contains the high-molecular organic material in a proportion smaller than that of the low-molecular organic material, and has a three-dimensionally continuous network skeleton structure formed by the high-molecular organic material. The structure preferably has an average cell or mesh diameter not exceeding 500 microns. The removal of the low-molecular organic material from the blend gives a functional porous material consisting of the high-molecular organic material. The replacement of the low-molecular organic material in the blend with a solid or liquid, or a mixture thereof, gives a functional composite material containing the solid or liquid, or their mixture in the network skeleton structure.

High-molecular materials and processes for manufacturing the same

A toothed belt and belt-adapted pulley system provides a high-load capacity and increased durability by reducing stress concentrations on dedendum portions and further preventing localized bending of belt tensile cords. Smooth engagement of elastic teeth of a belt is possible due to minimization of interference between the elastic teeth upon engagement or disengagement with a pulley. Reduced vibration, low noise, and a reduction in skipping under high loads result from the inventive system. Each tooth of the belt has a peripheral length m.sub.0 and a dedendum portion with a length m.sub.1, where m.sub.1 /m.sub.0 is 0.1 or less. Each tooth of the pulley has a peripheral length n.sub.0 and a dedendum portion having a length n.sub.1, where n.sub.1 /n.sub.0 is 0.1 or less.

A rubber composition in which highly hard particles formed with a rubber-philic coating layer by a fluidized coating treatment are dispersed in a rubber material.

Disclosed is a damping material, which contains from 3 to 30% by weight of a thermoplastic elastomer containing at least two polymer blocks along with a bitumen and which has a dynamic loss tangent (tan .delta.) of being 0.5 or more in 10% deformation under the condition of 25.degree. C. and 1 Hz.

A resin wheel consisting of two or more molded parts coupled together. The parts are molded separately and have threaded portions. Then, the threaded portion of one molded part is screwed into the threaded portion of the other molded part so that the parts are fitted and coupled together.
