In a vehicle body side structure, an impact beam () is mounted to a door inner panel () by an impact beam extension (). A part of the impact beam extension () that extends from an impact beam fixing part () to the door inner panel () serves as a load transmission part () capable of transmitting a load from the impact beam () to the door inner panel (), and the extension line therefrom is directed at the centroid Cof the body pillar (). With a simple structure such as this, at the time of a side impact it is possible to transfer a load from the impact beam () in a straight line to the centroid Cof the body pillar () while suppressing the twisting moment of the body pillar ().

Vehicle body side structure

A vehicle door structure for suppressing permanent deformation due to thermal distortion of a door is described. A door inner paneland a door outer panelare configured in aluminum alloy or the like. An impact beamand a belt line inner reinforcementare joined to the door inner panel. The impact beamand the belt line inner reinforcementare configured from a material, such as steel, with a smaller linear expansion coefficient than the door outer panel. Thus, permanent deformation due to thermal distortion at the door outer panelside, due to a difference in the thermal expansion conditions of the door inner panelside and the door outer panelside, may be suppressed.

Vehicle door structure

A vehicular pedal supporting structure includes a pedal bracket, a pedal, and a guide. A front portion of the pedal bracket is fixed to a first vehicle-body-side constituent member, while a rear portion of the pedal bracket is extended toward a rear of the vehicle. The pedal is supported on lateral side portions of the pedal bracket so as to be swingable around a center shaft. The guide causes the rear portion of the pedal bracket to be displaced backwards and downwards when the pedal bracket is displaced backwards as a result of application of a frontal external force to create a rotational displacement of the rear portion of the pedal bracket relative to the front portion. The pedal bracket is provided with a rupture creation mechanism for ensuring that the rear portion of the pedal bracket is at least partially ruptured from the front portion thereof when the rear portion is rotationally displaced.
