An information presentation system is provided with: a data server for providing a predetermined kind of information data classified into a plurality of preset data groups through a communication line; and a portable communication terminal apparatus connectable through the communication line to the data server. The portable communication terminal apparatus is provided with: a connecting device for connecting the portable communication terminal apparatus to the data server through the communication line; an input device for inputting or specifying a desirable code from among a plurality of data group codes each indicating respective one of the preset data groups; and a terminal side transmitting device for transmitting the inputted or specified code through the communication line to the data server. The data server is provided with: a server side receiving device for receiving the transmitted code; and a server side transmitting device for transmitting the information data as for the data group corresponding to the received code by a predetermined format from the data server to the portable communication terminal apparatus through the communication line. The portable communication terminal apparatus is further provided with: a terminal side receiving device for receiving the transmitted information data; and a displaying device for displaying the received information data.

A diversity receiver has distributors each of which is connected with each of a plurality of antennas, and as many antenna switches as there are receivers. Each of the antenna switches has as many contacts as there are distributors. The distributor distributes a radio frequency signal from the antenna into as many signal paths as there are receivers. Each of the antenna switches is connected with each of the distributors via the contact connected with the signal path. A demodulated signal selecting circuit has as many contacts as there are said receivers. The demodulated signal selecting circuit receives the demodulated output of the receivers via each of said second contacts to selectively output the demodulated outputs of the receivers.

An information reproducing system, such as an audio tape player, for automotive use, whereby errors which would otherwise occur when the engine is started are inhibited. The information reproducing system of the invention includes a voltage detector circuit for detecting the voltage of the automobile's battery, an operating unit for operating the recording medium in response to the supply of power from the battery so as to reproduce information stored on the recording medium, and a control unit for controlling the operating unit. In this system, the application of an operation command input to the control unit is inhibited when the voltage detector circuit detects a drop in the voltage of the battery at the time the engine is started. In addition, the inhibition of the operation command input is cancelled when the restoration of the voltage of the battery is detected.

Information reproducing system with improved response to intermittent

A method of display control is disclosed for an audio tape deck having a display unit employing an array of light-emitting segments, whereby both data relating to playback audio signals and tape transport data can be selectively displayed in the same display region. Any change in operating status from a normal play mode of operation during display of audio playback signal data is sensed, causing changeover to display of tape transport data, and after a fixed time has elapsed following return to the play mode the display of audio playback signal data is restored.

The method comprises a first step of causing the mechanism controller to perform the CUE or RVW mode operation while detecting the output signal from the magnetic head to find a leading edge of an information carrying tape portion, a second step of causing the mechanism controller to perform the PLAY mode operation which is initiated from a tape portion adjacent to and upstream of the leading edge of the information carrying tape portion for a certain period after finding the leading edge, a third step of causing the mechanism controller to repeat the first and second steps until a manual stop command is given during the period, and a fourth step of causing the mechanism controller to perform the PLAY mode operation even after the period in case a manual stop command is given during the period.

Method for selecting desired piece of information recorded in magnetic

A repeat playback circuit device for use in a tape recorder in which the tape recorder is prevented from jumping again into a inter-music detection mode before the beginning of a desired segment of music is detected. During a normal play operation, pulses from an oscillator source are applied to the clock input of a counter while pulses indicative of the presence of a segment of music are applied to the clear input of the counter to thus prevent the counter from reaching a predetermined count. At the end of the segment of music, the pulses applied to the clear input of the counter are removed, whereupon the counter can then reach the predetermined count. When the counter does in fact reach the predetermined count, the tape recorder is set to the rewind mode where it remains until a blank segment is detected, at which time the tape recorder is placed in the play mode. The counter is set to be ready to detect a blank portion on the tape at the beginning of a segment of music when in the play mode.

A cassette tape player-recorder of slot-in type which includes first detecting means for detecting the insertion of cassette into the slot, second detecting means for detecting correct placement of the inserted cassette at the operable position, a reset signal generator for producing a reset signal when a time longer than a predetermined period lapses from the insertion of the cassette into the slot until the correct positioning of the cassette at the operable position, and a cassette eject controller for ejecting the cassette in response to the reset signal. The cassette tape player-recorder can avoid malfunction thereof and damage of the cassette.

A device for accurately detecting non-recorded segments on a magnetic tape in fast-forward and rewind modes. The output of a magnetic head is coupled through an equalizer amplifier and limiter amplifier to convert it to a digital pulse signal which is applied to the clear input of a counter the clock input of which is coupled to an oscillator. A higher order output bit is connected to the clock input of a flip-flop which controls solenoids for setting the fast-forward and rewind modes. When no pulses of the digital pulse signal are received within a predetermined period, indicative of the presence of a non-recorded segment, the counter produces an output signal which operates the flip-flop.
