There is provided a 2-cyanoacrylate composition useful as cyanoacrylate adhesives that maintain a high speed of adhesion to poorly adherent materials and porous materials and have an improved light stability. The 2-cyanoacrylate composition contains a 2-cyanoacrylate, (1) a hindered phenol compound having a specific structure and (2) a compound having a clathrating ability.

2-cyanoacrylate composition

A method for producing a purified 2-cyanoacrylate is characterized in that distillation is conducted in the presence of a polymerization inhibitor whose boiling point is within &#xb1;12&#xb0; C. of the boiling point of the 2-cyanoacrylate. With this method, polymerization of 2-cyanoacrylate can be continuously prevented in the distillate system during distillation of a crude 2-cyanoacrylate, so that a purified 2-cyanoacrylate can be obtained.

Method for producing purified 2-cyanoacrylate

A 2-cyanoacrylate-based composition comprises a coloring material that changes color with curing of 2-cyanoacrylate. The composition has good visibility and excellent workability as it is colored before curing, and changes color with curing as it becomes colorless or light-colored after curing, thereby providing bonded, filled or surface treated portions with good appearance.

2-cyanoacrylate-based composition, method and agent for evaluating curing thereof

A 2-cyanoacrylate composition comprising a cyclic phenol sulfide derivative. The composition has a high curing rate and is excellent in moist-heat resistance, surface curability and clearance curability.

An accelerator for cyanoacrylates including an inclusion compound having an aromatic amine as a guest compound in the invention is effective as a pretreatment agent in adhering various materials to be adhered using a cyanoacrylate adhesive and as a post-treatment agent in filling adhesion or raising adhesion. Further, this accelerator has almost no unpleasant odor. Accordingly, it improves a working environment remarkably.

Accelerator for cyanoacrylates

The present invention provides a process for producing 2-cyanoacrylic acid, characterized by subjecting a 2-cyanoacrylate and an organic acid to transesterification reaction. The 2-cyanoacrylic acid obtained by the process of the present invention is useful as a starting material for the preparation of polyfunctional 2-cyanoacrylates.
