A supercharger is driven by a rotational force of a crankshaft of a combustion engine via a chain. The supercharger includes: a supercharger rotation shaft to which an impeller is fixed; a supercharger holder that rotatably supports the supercharger rotation shaft; and a hydraulic tensioner that is mounted on the supercharger holder and suppresses slack of the chain. In the supercharger holder, a supercharger lubricating oil passage that introduces a lubricating oil to the supercharger is formed. A part of the lubricating oil introduced to the supercharger lubricating oil passage is supplied to a hydraulic cylinder of the hydraulic tensioner through a branch path.

Supercharger for engine

An impeller for pressurizing an intake air of an engine is provided on a left side end portion in a supercharger rotary shaft of the supercharger. The power from the engine is transmitted to a second sprocket, which is provided on a right side end portion of an input shaft of a speed increaser, through a chain to thereby allow the supercharger to drive. The second sprocket is removably fitted to the input shaft by means of a bolt. The supercharger rotary shaft, the input shaft, the second sprocket and the bolt are all accommodated in a supercharger casing. The supercharger casing has a right side end face formed with an access opening through which access can be made to the second sprocket and the bolt from an axial direction.

Motorcycle supercharger

A breather device includes: a breather chamber into which oil mist in a crank chamber of a combustion engine is introduced; and a breather passage configured to guide oil mist from a crank chamber into the breather chamber. The breather chamber has formed therein a labyrinth structure in which gas-liquid separation of the oil mist is performed. An introduction pipe forming a part of the breather passage is communicated with an upper portion of the crank chamber, and projects upward from an upper end portion of the crank case.

Breather device for combustion engine

A supercharger-equipped combustion engine includes a crankshaft extending in a widthwise direction of a vehicle supported by a crankcase and a supercharger disposed above the crankcase. Power from the crankshaft is transmitted through a supercharger transmission to the supercharger. A crankcase body has an opening formed to be opened at the right side in the widthwise direction, and at least a part of the opening is covered with a holder detachably mounted on the crankcase body. The supercharger transmission includes input and output shafts extending in the widthwise direction of the vehicle, and the input and output shafts are rotatably supported at first end portions thereof at the right side by first bearing portions formed in the holder and are rotatably supported at second end portions thereof at the left side by second bearing portions formed in a side wall of the crankcase body.

Engine with supercharger

A supercharger-equipped combustion engine includes a crankcase supporting a crankshaft extending in a widthwise direction of a vehicle, and a cylinder block disposed above the crankcase. A supercharger is disposed above the crankcase and rearward of the cylinder block and driven by power of the crankshaft. The power of the crankshaft is transmitted to the supercharger through a counter shaft which rotatably supports a counter gear. The counter shaft extends parallel with the crankshaft, and a starter gear is arranged on the counter shaft so as to be aligned in the widthwise direction. The counter shaft is disposed rearward of the crankshaft, and the supercharger is disposed rearward of the counter shaft. A starter motor meshing with the starter gear is disposed frontward of the supercharger.

Supercharger equipped engine

A combustion engine for a motorcycle includes a supercharger which pressurizes intake air. The supercharger is driven by power of the combustion engine. A first cushioning body which suppresses rotation fluctuation of power is provided on a power transmission path leading from the combustion engine to the supercharger. The first cushioning body has a damper structure to transmit power from an upstream side to a downstream side thereof through an elastic body.

An oil filter and an oil cooler of a motorcycle combustion engine are disposed on an outer surface of an engine body side by side in a right-left direction. A first engine lubrication passage extending in the right-left direction is connected to an outflow passage for the oil cooler. A second engine lubrication passage is connected to the first engine lubrication passage, to extend frontward, and is disposed parallel to an inflow passage and an outflow passage for the oil filter. A third engine lubrication passage is connected to the second engine lubrication passage and extends upward from the second engine lubrication passage in front of the first engine lubrication passage.

Lubrication system for vehicle engine

To provide a supercharger mounting structure for an engine that enables a supercharger to be easily fitted to or removed from an engine main body, the supercharger mounting structure for the engine includes a supercharger including a compressing unit for supplying an intake air under pressure to the engine, a speed increasing unit for increasing the rotational speed of an engine rotary shaft and then transmitting it to the compressing unit and a supercharger casing for accommodating the compressing unit and the speed increasing unit. The supercharger casing is removably fitted to a crankcase of the engine.

Supercharger mounting structure for engine

A breather device for a combustion engine includes a breather chamber in which oil mist in the combustion engine is introduced, a breather passage that guides the oil mist to the breather chamber from a crank chamber, and a blowby gas passage that guides, to an air intake passage, blowby gas having been subjected to gas-liquid separation in the breather chamber. A separator is accommodated in a blowby drawing pipe forming the blowby gas passage. The oil mist is made into droplets by the separator so that the liquid component is collected in the breather chamber.

Breather device for engine

An oil strainer which sucks an oil is disposed within an oil pan connected to a lower portion of a combustion engine. The oil strainer includes a strainer main body, which accommodates a filter element and extends so as to be inclined relative to a horizontal line, a suction port formed in a lower portion of the strainer main body, and a discharge port formed in an upper portion of the strainer main body.

Oil strainer and oil storage device for vehicle

A gear changer of a power transmitting device includes an input shaft to which a rotational force is inputted from an engine, an output shaft for outputting the rotational force to a rear wheel, and a plurality of speed change gear pairs for transmitting the rotational force from the input shaft to the output shaft. A slider member for selecting one of the speed change gear pairs to transmit the rotational force from the input shaft to the output shaft is supported by the output shaft. Selection of one of the speed change gear pairs is accomplished by moving the slider member in an axial direction by means of a shifter mechanism. A pump rotary shaft, to which the rotation is transmitted from the input shaft, is disposed at a location between the input shaft and the shifter mechanism in a circumferential direction of the output shaft.

Power transmitting device

A combustion engine includes a supercharger which pressurizes intake air to be supplied to an engine body. A lubrication system for the combustion engine includes a main lubrication passage through which lubricating oil flows to lubricate the engine body, a supercharger lubrication passage through which lubricating oil flows to lubricate the supercharger, and an oil pump which supplies a shared lubricating oil to both of the main and supercharger lubrication passages.

A combustion engine (E) for a motorcycle includes a crankshaft () extending in a widthwise direction of the motorcycle and a supercharger () which pressurizes intake air (I). A clutch gear () to which a clutch is connected is provided at the right side of the crankshaft (), and a supercharger gear () which drives the supercharger () is provided at the left side of the clutch gear (). The supercharger gear () is formed on a crank web () disposed such that a journal () is located between the clutch gear () and the crank web ().

A transmission lubricating structure which lubricates a transmission using a lubricating fluid, the transmission including a plurality of gear pairs each including a drive gear and a driven gear, includes a lubricating fluid feeding unit for feeding the lubricating fluid to the gears of the gear pairs; wherein the lubricating fluid feeding unit includes a plurality of injection nozzles, each of which directly injects the lubricating fluid to a tooth of the drive gear and a tooth of the driven gear, which teeth start to engage with each other.

Transmission lubricating structure
