Laminate including layer of ethylene-α-olefin-nonconjugated polyene copolymer composition, and application thereof

An object of the present invention is to provide a laminate of an olefin-type rubber, which is non-polar or has a small polarity and which is difficult to bond with a different material, and a rubber comprising Group 15 elements, which is a different kind of rubber. The laminate according to the present invention includes a structure including, in order, an olefin-type rubber layer (A); an adhesive resin layer (B) containing at least one selected from the group consisting of an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer, a silane-modified ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer, an ethylene/acrylic acid copolymer and an ionomer thereof, and an ethylene/methacrylic acid copolymer and an ionomer thereof; and a layer (C) containing a rubber containing Group 15 elements.

Laminate

An object of the present invention is to provide a novel ethylene/α-olefin/non-conjugated polyene copolymer containing a certain non-conjugated polyene such as VNB as a copolymerization component, having a low long-chain branching content, excellent in cure characteristics in the case of crosslinking by using peroxide, and having good processability. The ethylene/α-olefin/non-conjugated polyene copolymer according to the present invention has constitutional units derived from ethylene (A), an α-olefin (B) having 3 to 20 carbon atoms, and a non-conjugated polyene (C) having a total of two or more partial structures selected from the group consisting of the following general formulas (I) and (II) in a molecule, and satisfies certain requirements.

The present invention relates to a method for producing a crosslinked molded article, comprising melt-kneading a polymer composition containing a polymer having a terminal double bond, a hydrosilyl group-containing compound (Y) having at least two hydrosilyl groups per molecule, a platinum-based catalyst (Z) for hydrosilicon crosslinking, and a reaction inhibitor (D), subjecting the polymer composition to injection molding in a mold, performing primary crosslinking in the mold, removing the primary-crosslinked molded article from the mold, and then performing secondary crosslinking in a heat medium.

Provided is a lump that is suitable to be used with rubber and compounding agents in producing rubber products with low hardness, of which an uniform kneaded product can be quickly obtained while kneading to produce rubber products, and that does not easily change its shape even when stored for a long period of time.

Lumps and composition

The present invention provides a rubber composition having adequate foamability, uses thereof, a copolymer contained in the rubber composition, a rubber composition capable of providing a cross-linked foam, which has a low specific gravity and an excellent shape-retaining property even when the usage of a nonconjugated polyene is reduced, and a cross-linked rubber and a cross-linked foam, which are produced from the rubber composition. A copolymer (A) according to the present invention is a copolymer including structural units derived from ethylene [A], an &#x3b1;-olefin [B], a nonconjugated polyene [C-1], in which one carbon-carbon double bond (C&#x2550;C) polymerizable with a metallocene catalyst is present in one molecule, and a nonconjugated polyene [C-2], in which two bonds of C&#x2550;C polymerizable with the metallocene catalyst are present in one molecule, and being synthesized with the metallocene catalyst, wherein (1) the units derived from the component [B] constitute 10 to 50 percent by mole, (2) the total of the units derived from the component [C-1] and the units derived from the component [C-2] is 1.0 to 6.0 percent by mole, (3) the molar ratio of the units derived from the component [C-1] to the units derived from the component [C-2] is 75/25 to 99.5/0.5, (4) [ML (1+4) 100&#xb0; C.] is 10 to 200, and (5) 50&#x3e;activation energy of fluidization (kJ/mol)&#x3e;35 is satisfied.

Copolymer, rubber composition, cross-linked rubber, cross-linked foam, and uses thereof

Objects of the invention are to obtain ethylene copolymers which have excellent rubber elasticity even without being crosslinked and maintain sufficient shaping processability even when filled with significantly large amounts of additives, and to provide methods for producing with good productivity films or sheets having flexibility and high stretchability. The invention is directed to an ethylene copolymer (X) including structural units derived from a component [A], a component [B] and a component [C] which are ethylene [A], an &#x3b1;-olefin of 3 to 20 carbon atoms [B] and a polyene and/or a cyclic olefin [C]. In the ethylene copolymer, (1) the content of structural units derived from the ethylene [A] is in the range of 50 to 90 mol % in 100 mol % of all the structural units in the copolymer (X); (2) the content of structural units derived from at least one polyene and/or the cyclic olefin [C] is in the range of 1.0 to 5.0 mol % in 100 mol % of all the structural units in the copolymer (X); and (3) the intrinsic viscosity [&#x3b7;] of the ethylene copolymer (X) as measured at 135&#xb0; C. in a decalin solution is in the range of 7.8 to 13.0 dl/g. The crosslinkable rubber composition of the invention is crosslinkable by hot air, and a hot-air crosslinked rubber sheet thereof has no scratch on the surface in a hardness test using a pencil of HB and has a compression set of not more than 70% after a heat treatment at 150&#xb0; C. for 22 hours. The rubber composition comprises an ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin/non-conjugated polyene random copolymer rubber comprising a specific vinyl end group-containing norbornene compound, a SiH group-containing compound having at least two SiH groups in one molecule, and if necessary, an addition reaction catalyst comprising a platinum group element and a reaction inhibitor.

Crosslinkable rubber compositions and uses thereof

The curable composition of the present invention contains (A1) a silyl-containing ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin/non-conjugated polyene random copolymer rubber which has a structural unit derived from a norbornene compound as the non-conjugated polyene with at least one specific vinyl group at the terminal and contains a specific hydrolyzable silyl group, and (B) a compound, other than the rubber (A1), having a hydroxyl group and/or a hydrolyzable group, e.g., (B1) a compound having a silanol group and/or a compound which can react with moisture to form a compound having a silanol group in the molecule. This compound improves elongation of the cured product and residual surface tackiness, and, at the same time, is high in curing speed and capable of giving the cured product of high resistance to weather. It is suitable for, e.g., adhesives, tackifiers, paints, sealants, waterproof materials, spray materials, shaping materials and casting rubber materials.

Curable composition and its use

The crosslinkable rubber composition of the invention is crosslinkable by hot air, and a hot-air crosslinked rubber sheet thereof has no scratch on the surface in a hardness test using a pencil of HB and has a compression set of not more than 70% after a heat treatment at 150&#xb0; C. for 22 hours. The rubber composition comprises an ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin/non-conjugated polyene random copolymer rubber comprising a specific vinyl end group-containing norbornene compound, a SiH group-containing compound having at least two SiH groups in one molecule, and if necessary, an addition reaction catalyst comprising a platinum group element and a reaction inhibitor. The automobile weatherstrip, hose, rubber vibration insulator, belt, sealing material, expanded product, covered electric wire, electric wire joint, electric insulating part and household rubber product according to the invention comprise the above-mentioned rubber composition. The rubber composition has a high crosslinking rate and excellent productivity to produce crosslinked rubber molded products, is capable of undergoing hot-air crosslinking such as HAV or UHF and is capable of providing crosslinked rubber molded products having excellent compression set resistance, strength properties, heat resistance, weathering resistance and abrasion resistance.
