A drive circuit which outputs an output signal to an output terminal, includes a drive transistor configured to output a gradation current to the output terminal; a single differential amplifier; a resistance element connected with the drive transistor; and a plurality of switches. The plurality of switches are controlled such that a precharge voltage is outputted from the differential amplifier to the output terminal in a first period while blocking off an output from the drive transistor and such that a gradation current is outputted from the drive transistor to the output terminal in a second period after the first period.

A display panel drive circuit is provided with a first display output terminal to be connected with a data line of a display panel, first and second output stages, and a control circuit. The first output stage is directly connected with the first display output terminal and configured to output a data signal with the positive polarity with respect to a standard voltage level. The second output stage is also directly connected with the first display output terminal and configured to output a data signal with the negative polarity with respect to the standard voltage level. The control circuit controls the first and second output stages so that one of the first and second output stages is selectively activated while the other of the first and second output stages is deactivated.

A television set includes a television set body section which has a display panel in which pixels are arranged at intersections of scan lines and data lines in a matrix; and first and second input terminals provided for the television set body section. A second video signal is displayed on the display panel in a second drive system when the second video signal supplied to the second input terminal is selected.

A liquid crystal display includes scanning lines organized in sets of at least two, data lines overlapping the scanning lines at intersection regions, pixels located at the overlaps, a scanning line driver sequentially scanning the sets of scanning lines, a data line driver applying a voltage corresponding to an image data to each pixel through a corresponding data line, and a common electrode applying a reference voltage to the pixels. The sets of scanning lines each include adjacent first and second scanning lines. First and second pixels are associated with the first and second scanning lines, respectively. The scanning line driver drives the second pixel after the first pixel in a first period and the first pixel after the second pixel in a second period. The data line driver inverts a polarity of the pixel voltage with regard to the reference voltage every N horizontal scanning periods (N is an integer equal to or larger than 2).

In a drive circuit of a display apparatus in which a plurality of scanning lines and a plurality of data lines are orthogonalized, a first data latch circuit latches image data for every line in response to a horizontal signal. A decoder circuit decodes the latched image data. A gradation voltage selecting circuit selects voltage lines based on the decoded image data, to connect each of the plurality of data lines with any of the voltages lines. A data determining circuit generates determination signals based on the selected voltage lines such that each of a plurality of gradation amplifiers is selectively set to an inactive state based on the determination signal. A gradation amplifier circuit includes the plurality of gradation amplifiers, each of which amplifies a corresponding one of gradation voltages when being in an active state and does not amplify the corresponding gradation voltage when being in an inactive state, and the amplified gradation voltage being outputted on a corresponding one of the voltage lines. An output circuit drives the plurality of data lines based on the amplified gradation voltages on the voltage lines.
