A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material is disclosed. The material is comprised of a support base having thereon a silver halide emulsion layer and a high molecular compound having a repeating unit containing a residue of benzotriazoles. The repeating unit may be represented by the general formula (I) ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group, L represents a divalent bonding group, and X represents a monovalent group of benzotriazoles. Improved antifogging agent effects are obtained by utilizing the high molecular compound of applicants' invention in connection with silver halide photographic light-sensitive materials.

Silver halide photographic light-sensitive materials

A lithographic photosensitive material which comprises a support having thereon at least one silver halide emulsion layer and that, contains as a lithographic development accelerating agent a compound represented by the following general formula (I) in its silver halide emulsion layer or another hydrophilic colloidal layer: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 to R.sub.5 may be the same or different, and they each represent hydrogen, a halogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an aryl group, ##STR2## (wherein R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 each represents hydrogen or an alkyl group, or they may combine with each other to form a 5- or 6-membered nitrogen containing saturated hetero ring), --NH--CO--R.sub.8 or --NHSO.sub.2 --R.sub.9 (wherein R.sub.8 and R.sub.9 each represents an alkyl group, an aryl group or an aralkyl group), or R.sub.3 and R.sub.4, or R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 may combine with each other to form a benzene ring and that, it is necessary to said compound that at least one of substituents R.sub.1, R.sub.3 and R.sub.5 represents --NHSO.sub.2 --R.sub.9, or the benzene ring formed by combining R.sub.3 and R.sub.4, or by combining R.sub.4 with R.sub.5 is substituted with at least one --NHSO.sub.2 --R.sub.9 group.

Lithographic photosensitive material

A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material is described comprising a support having thereon at least one silver halide emulsion layer wherein the silver halide emulsion has been chemically ripened in the presence of at least one compound containing at unit represented by the formula ##STR1## wherein M represents hydrogen, an alkali metal atom, or NH.sub.4. The silver halide photographic light-sensitive material shows high sensitivity without an accompanying increase in fog.

Silver halide photographic light-sensitive material

A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material containing in at least one of its constituent layers a polymerized stabilizer which comprises repeating units having an 1,2,4-triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine moiety. The stabilizer does not inhibit the sensitivity of the material and greatly enhances its storability.

A method for forming a high contrast negative photographic image, which comprises imagewise exposing a photographic material comprising a support having thereon at least one photographic silver halide emulsion layer with the photographic silver halide emulsion layer or at least one hydrophilic colloid layer of the photographic material containing a compound of the general formula (I)

Method for forming high contrast photographic image

A photographic light-sensitive material which has on a support at least one silver halide emulsion layer containing large-size silver halide grains formed in the presence of at least one compound acting as a silver halide solvent and having the following general formual (I): ##STR1## wherein l and m each represents an integer of 2 or 3; n represents zero or an integer of 1 or 2; and R.sup.1 and R.sup.5 may be the same as or different from one another, each being an alkyl group, a hydroxyalkyl group or carboxyalkyl group, and when n equals zero, at least one of the substituents of R.sup.1 to R.sup.4, must be a hydroxyalkyl group, while when n does not equal zero, at least two of the substitutents of R.sup.1 to R.sup.5, must be hydroxyalkyl groups. Use of the compound of the present invention results in emulsions exhibiting excellent reproducibility with respect to gain sizes of silver halides.

Photographic light-sensitive material

A silver halide photographic material is described, comprising an emulsion which is chemical-ripened in the presence of a compound having the formula (I) or (II), ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen, an alkali metal ion, or an ammonium ion; R.sub.2 is an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an aryloxy group, an acyl group, an amino group, a substituted amino group, a halogen atom, an acyloxy group, an acylamino group, a carbamoyl group, a nitro group, an aryl group, an allyl group, a sulfo group or a carboxy group; Y represents a divalent linking group; and n is 0, 1, or 2; such emulsions show high sensitivity without fog and have good stability.

Silver halide photographic materials

A silver halide photographic light-sensitive element is described comprising a support having thereon at least one silver halide emulsion layer, wherein at least one compound represented by formula (I) is incorporated in the silver halide emulsion layer or in another hydrophilic colloid layer: ##STR1## wherein X represents a hydroxy group or a group represented by ##STR2## wherein R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 (which may be the same or different) each reprsents hydrogen, an alkyl group, or an aryl group; R.sup.1 represents a sulfur-containing saturated heterocyclic group or a group represented by -A-S-B, wherein A represents an alkylene group and B represents hydrogen, an alkyl group, or an aryl group; and Z represents an atomic group forming a 5-membered or 6-membered unsubstituted or substituted carbocyclic ring. In the silver halide photographic light-sensitive element, the so-called 'latent image fading' phenomenon is prevented without accompanying degradation of other photograhic properties.

Silver halide photographic light-sensitive element

A lithographic silver halide photographic light-sensitive material is described which scarcely exhibits colored fringe and black pepper, forms halftone dots of good quality whether a fresh or an exhausted developer is used for processing thereof, and which scarcely shows a drop in sensitivity even when a developer contaminated by a fixing solution is used; said material comprises a support and at least one lithographic silver halide emulsion layer, and containing in said emulsion layer or in another hydrophilic colliodal layer which does not contain silver halide emulsion at least one compound represented by formula (I) ##STR1## wherein M represents hydrogen, an alkali metal ion or --NH.sub.4.sup..sym. ; X represents --SO.sub.2 NHR', --COOM', --SO.sub.3 M', --OH or --CONH.sub.2, wherein M' represents hydrogen, an alkali metal ion or --NH.sub.4.sup..sym. ; and R' represents hydrogen or an alkyl group having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms; R represents hydrogen or an alkyl group having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms; and n represents 1 or 2.

Lithographic silver halide photographic light-sensitive material

A silver halide photographic emulsion containing silver halide grains formed in the presence of a silver halide solvent of the formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are each a subtituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkenyl group (e.g., allyl group), a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group or a substituted or unsubstituted nitrogen-containing heterocyclic ring; or R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3, and R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 when taken together may form a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring; provided at least one of R.sub. to R.sub.4 is a 5- or 6-membered nitrogen-containing heterocyclic ring, an alkyl group or aryl group substituted with an amino group, an alkyl grop substituted with a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic ring, or R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3, or R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 combine to form a 5- or 6-membered nitrogen-containing heterocyclic ring containing at least two nitrogen atoms.

A light-sensitive silver halide photographic material comprising a support having thereon at least one light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, with the silver halide photographic material containing at least one compound represented by the following general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein Z represents the atoms necessary to complete an oxazolidine ring, a pyrrolidine ring or a thiazolidine ring; R.sup.1 and R.sup.2, which may be the same or different, each represents an alkyl group or an aryl group; R.sup.3 represents a --COR.sup.4 group or a --CO.sub.2 R.sup.5 group; R.sup.4 represents an alkyl group or an aryl group; R.sup.5 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an aryl group; and n is 1 or 2, and when n is 2, at least one of R.sup.1, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 represents a divalent alkylene group, a divalent arylene group or a divalent group of alkylene and arylene moieties to form a dimer; and a method for preventing the effects of ultraviolet light on a silver halide photographic material comprising incorporating, as an ultraviolet light absorbent, at least one compound represented by the general formula (I) above into the silver halide photographic material.
