A detection device detects a position of a leading end of a tip for executing an operation on a cell via the leading end. The detection device includes a light source that outputs light in a lateral direction such that the light has a width when viewed along an up-and-down direction, a movement mechanism that moves the tip, and a detector that detects the light output from the light source, wherein the light output from the light source until being detected by the detector includes first and second lights that advance in respectively different lateral directions, the movement mechanism moves the tip such that a part of the first light and a part of the second light are blocked by the leading end, and the detector detects the first and second lights whose parts are blocked by the leading end.

Detection device and detection method

A secondary battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and an electrolytic solution. The positive electrode includes a lithium-cobalt composite oxide having a layered rock-salt crystal structure. The negative electrode includes graphite. An open circuit potential of the negative electrode measured in a full charge state is from 19 mV to 86 mV. A potential variation of the negative electrode is greater than or equal to 1 mV when the secondary battery is discharged from the full charge state by a capacity corresponding to 1% of a maximum discharge capacity. The maximum discharge capacity is obtained when the secondary battery is discharged with a constant current from the full charge state until the closed circuit voltage reaches 3.00 V, following which the secondary battery is discharged with a constant voltage of the closed circuit voltage of 3.00 V for 24 hours.

Secondary battery

A secondary battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and an electrolytic solution. The maximum discharge capacity is a discharge capacity obtained when the secondary battery is discharged with a constant current from the full charge state until the closed circuit voltage reaches 3.00 V, following which the secondary battery is discharged with a constant voltage of the closed circuit voltage of 3.00 V for 24 hours.

In a secondary battery charging method, constant current charging is performed until a first predetermined voltage Vis attained, constant voltage charging is then performed at the first predetermined voltage V, the first constant voltage charging is completed when a charge current becomes (I&#x2212;&#x394;I) from I, and then n is incremented by one; and constant voltage charging is performed at a voltage V=V+&#x394;V, a step of completing the n-th constant voltage charging when the charge current becomes (I&#x2212;&#x394;I) from Iis repeated by incrementing n by one, and the N-th constant voltage charging in which a value of the voltage Vreaches a second predetermined voltage V(&#x3e;V) is completed to terminate the constant voltage charging.

Secondary battery charging method, charging control apparatus, and secondary battery

The present technology provides a method for evaluating a secondary battery, including conducting at least: a determination step of determining a degree of diffusion defect of an ion that performs electric conduction; an evaluation step of evaluating a state of the secondary battery on the basis the result of the determination in the determination step; and a control step of controlling states of current application and voltage application on the secondary battery during charging or during discharging of the secondary battery on the basis of the result of the evaluation in the evaluation step.
