This invention is capable of improving performance of a biochemical analyzer and facilitating the maintenance. A light source includes: a first LED that emits ultraviolet light and a second LED that has a light emission spectrum different from that of the first LED, the first LED and the second LED being disposed in parallel; a reflection surface that is opposite to the first LED and reflects light of the first LED; and a dichroic surface that is opposite to the second LED, reflects light of the first LED, and allows light of the second LED to penetrate. When an optical member including the dichroic surface is made to be the dichroic prism, the reflection surface reflects light of the first LED to the second LED side, and by using light source of a configuration having a light shielding unit between a light emission surface of the second LED and a dichroic prism, entering of a light emitted from the plural LEDs as a one light beam (beam) to an optical system of latter stage of the biochemical analyzer is enabled.

A height detection apparatus is configured to project a pattern on a sample arranged at any of a plurality of reference positions and configured to detect a height of the sample. The apparatus includes: a projection optical system that generates a plurality of spatially separated light beams each having the pattern and projects the generated spatially separated light beams onto the sample; an imaging element that images the pattern reflected from the sample; a detection optical system that guides the pattern reflected from the sample to the imaging element; and at least one optical path length correction member disposed on an optical path different from an optical path having a shortest optical path length among a plurality of optical paths corresponding to the plurality of light beams at a position where the plurality of light beams is spatially separated.

The present invention provides a light guide capable of guiding light generated by a scintillator at high efficiency to a photoreceiving element, a detector, and a charged particle beam device. For attaining the purpose, the present invention proposes a light guide that guides light generated by a scintillator to a photoreceiving element, provided with a scintillator containment portion formed of a first surface facing a surface opposite to a charged particle incident surface of the scintillator and a second surface facing a surface different from the surface opposite to the charged particle incident surface of the scintillator, and a tilted surface reflecting light incident from the second surface to the inside of the light guide.

The purpose of the present invention is to decrease the process temperature for a multilayer glass into which an optical element is to be packed, thereby reducing the damage to the optical element during processing. A multilayer glass according to the present invention is so configured that a gap formed between glass plates is sealed with a sealing material that can fix at a process temperature lower than a temperature employed for the processing of an optical element (see FIG.).

In a color display device, when using white (W) sub-pixels in addition to subpixels of red (R) and green (G) plus blue (B) without increasing a wiring line number, the per-color pixel number in a unit area decreases so that the image resolution is deteriorated. The area and number of subpixels are adjusted in accordance with the visual sensitivity or luminosity required. Practically, the area of red (R) and blue (B) subpixels which are relatively low in luminosity is set to be about two times greater than the area of green (G) and white (W) subpixels that are relatively high in luminosity while letting the number of green (G) and white (W) subpixels be twice the number of red (R) and blue (B) subpixels. A larger subpixel is configured from a plurality of unit subpixels. A smaller subpixel is formed of a one unit subpixel.
