An irradiation system () comprises a plurality of irradiation devices () and a control device (). The plurality of irradiation devices () are arranged adjacent to one another in a first direction. Each of the plurality of irradiation devices () is able to move an electromagnetic wave in a second direction different from the first direction while moving the electromagnetic wave in the first direction. The control device () controls the plurality of irradiation devices. Specifically, the control device () separates an irradiation position of the electromagnetic wave of each of the plurality of irradiation devices () from the control device by at least a predetermined distance or more in the second direction at a predetermined timing.

It is an object to provide a driving method of a plasma display panel, whereby a dark contrast can be improved while suppressing an erroneous discharge. In a resetting step in a first unit display period, while a first reset pulse having a predetermined peak electric potential is applied to one of first row electrodes of row electrode pairs formed in the PDP, a second reset pulse having a peak electric potential smaller than that of the first reset pulse is applied to the other of the first row electrodes. In the resetting step in a second unit display period subsequent to the first unit display period, a second reset pulse is applied to each of the one and the other of the first row electrodes.

A method of driving a display panel is provided which can reduce power consumption. During a unit display period, the number of times of second and subsequent selective erase operations performed on one display cell of each pixel is different from the number of times of second and subsequent selective erase operations performed on another display cell emitting light of different color from that of the one display cell.

A driving apparatus for a display panel capable of reducing a circuit scale while suppressing the drop of a contrast includes a scan driver having a first power source for generating a first voltage, generating a scan pulse for bringing the capacitive light emission device to either an ON state or an OFF state based on the first voltage, and applying the scan pulse to the row electrode, a sustain driver having a second power source for generating a second voltage, generating a sustain pulse for allowing the capacitive light emission device set to the ON state to emit light based on the second voltage, and applying the scan pulse to the row electrode, and a reset driver generating a reset pulse for initializing the capacitive light emission device based on the sum of the first voltage and the second voltage, and applying the reset pulse to the row electrode.
