An image forming system includes a first image forming apparatus configured to form an image according to first setting information that is set to a first user; a second image forming apparatus configured to form an image according to second setting information that is set to a second user; and an administration apparatus that holds the first setting information and the second setting information and administers the first image forming apparatus and the second image forming apparatus according to the first setting information and the second setting information thus held. The administration apparatus includes a determining unit configured to determine whether a substitute apparatus for the first image forming apparatus is necessary; and an information setting unit configured to obtain the first setting information according to a determination result of the determining unit, and add the first setting information to the second setting information.

A printing apparatus includes: a printed range store unit configured to store a printed range, which is a part of a first print data that is completely printed; a print completion determination unit configured to determine whether or not the printing of the first print data has been completed; a print job determination unit configured to determine whether or not a second print data correspond with the first print data; an unprinted page determination unit configured to determine unprinted pages of the second print data based on the print range stored by the printed range store unit, when the print job determination unit determines that the second print data correspond with the first print data; and a print control unit configured to instruct a print unit to print based on the second print data and the result of the unprinted page determination unit.

Printing apparatus and printing system having fault recovery

An image forming apparatus places restriction on a print job. A memory stores a plurality of items of first print job information and corresponding print restriction levels. A print job information obtaining section obtains a plurality of items of second print job information from the print job. A restriction level selecting section reads the print restriction levels from the memory by using the items of second print information. The restriction level selecting section selects the highest one of the print restriction levels. A printing section prints print data contained in the print job at the selected highest one of the print restriction levels. The second print restriction levels may be lower in restriction level than the first print restriction levels. The user may be advised of a third printing format if the highest one of the first print restriction levels indicates that the print job is restricted.

An image forming apparatus which executes an image creation on the basis of image creation data including a first document identifier has: an input unit which inputs the image creation data; a storing unit which previously stores a second document identifier for limiting an output; and a discriminating unit which discriminates permission or inhibition of the output on the basis of the second document identifier stored in the storing unit and the first document identifier included in the inputted image creation data. The image creation is performed on the basis of only the image creation data which has previously been permitted, thereby preventing the unnecessary image creation from being executed.

It is an object of this invention to provide an image forming apparatus capable of coping suitably with the fluctuation in a used consumption amount at the predetermined period as well as grasping in advance feasibility of a use. To achieve the above, an image forming apparatus according this invention has an entry section for entering image forming data; a using amount storage means for storing a using amount of a consumption used at a predetermined period for purpose of image formation; a setting means for setting a usable consumption amount of the predetermined period; and a usable amount determining means for determining the usable consumption amount of each determined period, the usable amount determining means for determining after the predetermined period the usable amount of a subsequent period corresponding to the using amount.

When a received MAC address coincides with its own MAC address held in the computer, print data is transmitted to the printer having the received IP address and the held own IP address of the printer is updated by the received IP address.
