A control apparatus for a vehicle that includes an engine as a drive power source, a rotating machine as an electric power generator, and an electric storage device. The control apparatus executes an automatic drive control for automatically controlling a torque of the drive power source in accordance with a requested drive torque without requiring an acceleration/deceleration operation by a driver of the vehicle. During an engine running of the vehicle, the rotating machine is rotated by the engine to generate an electric power, and a charging amount, by which the electric storage device is to be charged, is controlled by controlling the electric power generated by the rotating machine. The control apparatus is configured, during an automatic driving of the vehicle, to set the charging amount such that the charging amount is smaller when the requested drive torque is small than when the requested drive torque is large.

A control apparatus for a hybrid electric vehicle includes: an engine control portion for controlling an operation state of an engine; and a driving-mode control portion for controlling the vehicle so as to realize selected at least one of driving modes. The driving modes include a low-gear all-wheel driving mode and a high-gear all-wheel driving mode. In a case in which the low-gear all-wheel driving mode is selected in the high-gear all-wheel driving mode when the engine is in a stopped state with a vehicle power transmission apparatus being in a non-driving position that disables transmission of a drive power, the engine control portion maintains the stopped state of the engine until completion of switching from the high-gear all-wheel driving mode to the low-gear all-wheel driving mode, and starts the engine after the completion of the switching from the high-gear all-wheel driving mode to the low-gear all-wheel driving mode.

A vehicle includes an engine, a second MG for running, a battery that supplies and receives electric power to and from the second MG, and an ECU. The ECU is configured to control the engine and the second MG and to execute intake air amount learning. When the SOC of the battery exceeds a second threshold value that is higher than a first threshold value while the vehicle is running using the second MG with the engine in a stopped state, the ECU maintains the engine in the stopped state and maintains the second MG in a driven state, and then does not execute the intake air amount learning. When the SOC of the battery takes a value between the first threshold value and the second threshold value, the ECU starts the engine, drives the second MG with constant torque, and executes the intake air amount learning.

A fuel cell system includes: a fuel cell outputting generated power to an external load; a secondary battery outputting charged power to the external load; and a controller performing a first control that controls output power of the fuel cell and output power of the secondary battery such that the output power of the secondary battery has a ratio predetermined in accordance with an output demand from the external load, in the power supplied to the external load, the controller switches the first control to a second control when the output demand satisfies a predetermined condition with which the output power of the secondary battery is predicted to reach a limit value with the first control, the second control sets a target value of the output power of the fuel cell such that the output power of the secondary battery is smaller than that in the first control.

An amount of electric power generated by a power supply device is input, an upper-limit current value is calculated using a relationship which varies with operation of the conversion circuit, a lower-limit voltage of the conversion circuit is calculated based on the amount of generated electric power and the upper-limit current value, and control is performed such that a voltage on an output side of the conversion circuit is higher than the lower-limit voltage. Accordingly, even when a voltage conversion device restricts a current output from the conversion circuit, it is possible to curb an influence on an output of the power supply device.

A fuel cell system according to one embodiment performs refresh control of an electrode catalyst of a fuel cell, by reducing a stack voltage as a voltage of the fuel cell to a refresh voltage at which the electrode catalyst is activated. The system includes the fuel cell that generates electric power by an electrochemical reaction using fuel gas and oxidation gas, a stack voltage sensor that sensors the stack voltage, and a controller that controls power of the fuel cell. When a high load demand that makes the stack voltage lower than a given voltage is made on the fuel cell, the controller causes the fuel cell to deliver power commensurate with the high load demand, and performs refresh control when the stack voltage becomes lower than the given voltage through the above control.

A fuel cell system of the present disclosure performs a first and a second catalyst activation process, and the first catalyst activation process is performed where a flow rate of the air supplied to the fuel cell by the air compressor is reduced to be less than that before the refresh control is performed while keeping an amount of a current drawn from the fuel cell by the fuel cell converter at the same value as that before the refresh control is performed, and the second catalyst activation process is performed where the value of the current drawn from the fuel cell by the fuel cell converter is increased to be greater than that before the refresh control is performed while keeping the flow rate of the air supplied to the fuel cell by the air compressor at the same value as that before the refresh control is performed.

A vehicle is provided with a continuously variable transmission device and an electric control unit controlling an engine, a motor generator, and the continuously variable transmission device. The electric control unit selects any one of a plurality of operation modes, having different correlations between a driver's accelerator operation amount and a control throttle opening, to suit driver's requests, and performs a number-of-revolutions increase control for increasing an engine rotation speed according to at least one of elapsed time from a time point of a vehicle speed increase and elapsed time from a time point of an acceleration request in a case where the control throttle opening exceeds a predetermined threshold. The electric control unit controls the engine to suppress the engine rotation speed change due to a change of the operation mode in a case where the control throttle opening is changed across the predetermined threshold in response to the change of the operation mode.

Vehicle provided with continuously variable transmission device

In a hybrid vehicle including an engine, a motor driven by a battery output, and a continuously variable transmission, when acceleration is requested, an ECU executes feeling-of-acceleration producing control for gradually increasing an engine rotation speed from an initial value NEini lower than an optimum rotation speed. With the battery output, the ECU makes up for a shortfall of engine output caused by the feeling-of-acceleration producing control. When starting the feeling-of-acceleration producing control, the ECU calculates a basic initial value NEini_base lower than the optimum rotation speed, and calculates, based on an atmospheric pressure, a lower limit value NEmin that allows the battery output to be maintained to be equal to or lower than prescribed electric power. The ECU selects a larger one of basic initial value NEini_base and lower limit value NEmin as initial value NEini.
