A plasma display panel having increased contrast and sharpness of image displayed on the panel. The panel includes (1) a front plate and a back plate in parallel, with a discharge gas between the plates, (2) plural pairs of composite display electrodes, each display electrode including a sustain electrode and a bus electrode, (3) a dielectric layer covering the display electrodes, and a protective film over the dielectric layer, (4) address electrodes on the back plate at right angles to the display electrode pairs, and a dielectric layer covering the address electrodes, and (5) linear ribs between the address electrodes, with phosphor layers between the adjacent linear ribs to extend intermittently in the lengthwise direction of the ribs for each pixel. Each phosphor layer covers both the dielectric layer surface and the surface of the linear ribs within each pixel. No phosphor layers are in the regions between adjacent pixels.

This invention is a method of forming ribs of a plasma display panel by transfer-printing a glass paste on a glass substrate. The method comprises; forming a recess having a configuration corresponding to ribs arranged in parallel with each other and a joining element joining the ribs, filling the recess with the glass paste, and starting transfer-printing the glass paste on the glass substrate from a portion of the glass paste corresponding to the joining element filled in the recess. The method ensures that the glass paste comes off substantially completely from within the recess as it is being transfer-printed on the glass substrate and that the ribs are formed with high precision.

A plasma display panel has a front plate (10) and a back plate (3) disposed in parallel and opposite to each other, and spaced a predetermined distance apart from each other by partition walls (1a, 1b, 1c). The partition walls (1a, 1b, 1c) define discharge spaces (2) each having a plurality of discharge cells. Phosphor layers (9) are formed on surfaces of the discharge spaces (2). The partition walls (1a, 1b, 1c) is formed of a material containing at least one of red, green and blue pigments. Since the partition walls (1a, 1b, 1c) are capable of luminance adjustment and white balance adjustment, the plasma display panel does not need any additional manufacturing processes and can be fabricated at a relatively low cost.

The electrostatic information recording medium of the present invention has an electric charge retaining layer 11 stacked on at least an electrode layer 13, as shown in FIG. 1. The electric charge retaining layer is formed from either 1 a resin selected from among fluorocarbon resins, and an insulating organic substance having no photoconductivity, or 2 a fluorine-containing thermoplastic resin consisting of a repeating unit represented by formula (1): ##STR1## (where the content of the dioxonol component represented by the number m of repeating units is in the range of 20 mol % to 90 mol %) the fluorine-containing thermoplastic resin having a melt viscosity of 10.sup.2 to 10.sup.4 Pa.sec at a temperature which is 90.degree. C. to 110.degree. C. higher than its glass transition temperature.

Electrostatic information recording medium

The electrostatic information recording medium of the present invention has an electric charge retaining layer 11 stacked on at least an electrode layer 13, as shown in FIG. 1. The electric charge retaining layer is formed from either 1 a resin selected from among fluorocarbon resins and polystyrene resins, and an insulating organic substance having no photoconductivity. The electrostatic information recording medium may be produced, as shown in FIG. 5, by stacking an insulating resin layer 10 on an electrode layer 13, stacking a photoconductive or electrically conductive fine particle layer 11 on the insulating resin layer 10, and further stacking an insulating resin layer 12 on the fine particle layer 11 to a thickness of 0.1 .mu.m to 1 .mu.m. If the insulating resin layers 10 and 12 are formed by coating using a fluorocarbon resin solution, the electrostatic information recording medium can be produced with excellent processability.
