A fender liner includes a surface layer serving as the outermost layer and an inner layer located between the surface layer and the outer surface of a wheel well. The surface layer and the inner layer are formed of nonwoven fabric. The nonwoven fabric forming the inner layer has a higher tensile strength than that of the nonwoven fabric forming the surface layer. Accordingly, the fender liner has a favorable noise reduction capability, and has a sufficient rigidity to bear a weight increase due to water absorption. Alternatively, the nonwoven fabric forming the surface layer may have a higher bulk specific gravity and a smaller fiber diameter than those of the nonwoven fabric forming the inner layer. In this case, the noise reduction capability and the durability are both improved.

Exterior component

An air bag cover having a surface sheet including a thermoplastic elastomer decorative layer on the surface side. The breaking elongation and break strength of the thermoplastic elastomer decorative layer is adjusted utilizing a filler powder. Thereby, the breaking rapidity at a tear line groove formation position is improved.

A heat-resistant molded instrument panel article having a decorative appearance, produced at a relatively low cost, wherein the instrument panel article comprises a main body molded from a first synthetic resin, a section piece molded from a second synthetic resin such that the periphery of the section piece is partially or entirely surrounded by the main body, with the upper outer surface of the section piece abutting the upper outer surface of the main body, so that such surfaces form a single, level surface. A surface layer continuously covers the surface of the section piece and at least part of the surface of the main body. The main body is made of a first synthetic resin having an elastic modulus in flexure in a range of about 2,000 MPa to about 4,000 MPa and a coefficient of linear thermal expansion of about 3-12.times.10.sup.-5 .degree. C..sup.-1. The section piece is made of a second synthetic resin having an elastic modulus in flexure in a range of about 100 MPa to 700 MPa and a coefficient of linear thermal expansion of about 1-10.times.10.sup.-5 .degree. C..sup.-1. The surface layer is made of a third synthetic resin having an elastic modulus in flexure ranging from about 300 MPa to about 2,000 MPa and a coefficient of linear thermal expansion of about 3-12.times.10.sup.-5 .degree. C..sup.-1.

One-piece molded articles

A composition for making an elongated molded product which can be satisfactorily used without having to be painted. The composition comprises an elastomer comprising crystalline polypropylene and ethylene-.alpha.-olefin rubber (EOR), and 0 to 15 phr of talc. The polypropylene (PP) and EOR have a blending ratio (PP/EOR) by weight of 35/65 to 67/33. The polypropylene has a Q value (M.sub.w /M.sub.n).gtoreq.10 and a melt flow rate of 50 to 120. The EOR has an .alpha.-olefin content of 10 to 20% by weight. The proportion Y of talc and the proportion X of the EOR in the elastomer satisfy the relation:
