In a lap anchor section in which a seat belt is inserted to a lap anchor cover so as to be connected to a pretensioner, the seat belt has a rigid portion in which an end of the seat belt is folded over itself in the vicinity of an insertion hole of the lap anchor cover and sewn with sewing thread and bound according to a complex sewing pattern. In addition, a chamfered portion inclined relative to the insertion direction of the seat belt is arranged at an end of the insertion hole of the lap anchor cover.

An air bag mounting structure for an air bag device for a passenger's seat, wherein an end portion of an air bag is mounted to a side of a retainer of an air bag device for a passenger's seat characterized in that the retainer is divided into a front-half portion and a rear-half portion; a pocket portion into which the rear rim of the front-half portion is inserted is provided at the front rim of the rear-half portion; the rear rim of the front-half portion is inserted along with the end portion of the air bag into the pocket portion; the end portion of the air bag extends over the rear rim of the front-half portion; and the front-half and the rear-half portions of the retainer and the end portion of the air bag are secured by insertion members which are inserted through the pocket portion.

An air bag device for a passenger is formed of a box-shaped container having its front face opened, an air bag fitted in a folded shape in the container, an inflater mounted in the container, a lid covering the open face of the container, and a hinge adapted to turn on a hinge pin and hinging one side of the lid to one side of the front edge of the container. The lid is opened on the hinge pin when the inflater operates.

A front operation panel is provided on a housing of an electrically controlled sewing machine, which provides a pattern list indicating a plurality of stitch patterns in a specific pattern group. One of the stitch patterns may be selected in direct reference to the pattern indication and the selected one is represented in a display section in the operational panel. The operational panel comprises a display board having the pattern list and the display section and a transparent cover superposed on the display board which includes a plurality of pressure-sensitive elements to be selectively depressed to designate the pattern indication in the pattern list. The display board may be switched to another information menu which is applicable to input operation of an original stitch pattern by successively inputting needle dropping points which should be enough to define a configuration of the original stitch pattern. The original stitch pattern thus registered may be included in the pattern list, which will now become selectable by depression of the corresponding elements in the transparent cover.

Stitch pattern select/input system in sewing machine

An electronically controlled sewing machine, comprises a current detecting device for detecting a value of current flowing through a stepping motor that drives a machine part and current setting means for setting a value of current to be applied to the stepping motor. The sewing machine further includes a control device (CPU) for storing a plurality of different values of currents to be applied to the stepping motor and driving the stepping motor until the stepping motor passes through an initial position thereof. The control device stops the stepping motor at a predetermined angular position thereof spaced from the initial position. The control device supplies the different values of currents to the stepping motor in a predetermined sequence from a smallest value to a larger value of current under a predetermined program to drive the stepping motor until the stepping motor reaches the initial position thereof. The control device further determines a current value that has driven the stepping motor to the initial position at a last step of current supply to establish a basis for setting a current value which is specific to the stepping motor.
