A non-aqueous electrolyte battery includes a battery element, a film-form casing member, and a resin protective layer. The battery element includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a separator disposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. The film-form casing member contains the battery element and an electrolyte in an enclosed space thereof. The resin protective layer is formed along the surface of the film-form casing member and has a substantially uniform thickness.

Non-aqueous electrolyte battery and method for producing the same

A polymer electrolyte capable of obtaining superior discharge characteristics and a battery using it are provided. A cathode () and an anode () are wound with a separator () in between. After that, the wound body is contained inside a package member. Then, an electrolytic composition containing a solvent, polyvinyl acetal or the derivative thereof, and lithium hexafluorophosphate is added thereto. Polyvinyl acetal or the derivative thereof is polymerized by using lithium hexafluorophosphate as a catalyst. Thereby, a polymer electrolyte () is formed, and the discharge characteristics are improved.

Polymer electrolyte and battery

A battery is provided which has a high capacity and can improve battery characteristics, such as cycle characteristics. The battery includes a spirally wound electrode body, wherein a cathode and an anode are wound with a separator in between. The anode includes, for example, simple substances, alloys, compounds of metal elements or metalloid elements capable of forming an alloy with Li, the like and combinations thereof. An electrolytic solution wherein an electrolyte salt is dissolved in a solvent is impregnated in the separator. For the electrolyte salt, a light metallic salt having B&#x2014;O bond or P&#x2014;O bond, such as difluoro[oxalato-O,O']lithium borate and tetra fluoro[oxalato-O,O&#x2032;]lithium phosphate, can be used. By forming a stable coating, decomposition reaction of the solvent can be inhibited, and reaction between the anode and the solvent can be prevented.

Battery

The present invention relates to a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery in which a spirally coiled battery element obtained by spirally coiling an anode () and a cathode () through a separator () is accommodated in a battery can () filled with a non-aqueous electrolyte. A fluoride MF(M indicates at least one metal selected from between Cu, Ni, Ag, Ti, Sn and Cr, and n is an integer.) is included in the anode before an initial charging operation, and assuming that the initial charging capacity of the battery is Q [mAh] and a Faraday constant is F [C/mol], an amount m [mol] of the fluoride MFincluded in the anode is located within a range represented by the following expression0.0036 Q/nF&#x2266;m&#x2266;0.36 Q/nF.

Non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery

A non-aqueous liquid electrolyte secondary cell including a cathode formed of metal lithium, a lithium alloy or a material capable of doping/undoping lithium, an anode and a non-aqueous liquid electrolyte formed by an electrolyte dissolved in a non-aqueous solvent. The non-aqueous solvent contains vinylene carbonate. The non-aqueous liquid electrolyte secondary cell may be advantageously employed as a power supply source for a small-sized lightweight portable electronic equipment.

Non-aqueous liquid electrolyte secondary cell

A non-aqueous electrolytic solutions which has self-distinguishing property, low reactivity to metal lithium and high withstand voltage is provided. The non-aqueous electrolytic solutions of the first invention comprise, as electrolyte, lithium salt preferably LiPF.sub.6 and, as solvent, phosphoric acid esters of the following general formula [1]; ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3, which may be the same or different, represent an alkyl group or an alkyl group substituted by one or more halogen atoms and at least one of R.sup.1, R.sup.2, and R.sup.3 represents an alkyl group substituted by one or more halogen atoms. The non-aqueous electrolytic solutions of the second invention comprise, as solvents for electrolyte, trimethyl phosphate, one or more linear carbonates represented by the following general formula [3]; ##STR2## (wherein R.sup.6 represents methyl or ethyl group and R.sup.7 represents a linear or branched alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms) and one or more cyclic carbonates and, as electrolyte, LiPF.sub.6 ; wherein content of the trymetyl phosphate is 1 to 10% by volume of the solvents for electrolyte. The non-aqueous electrolytic solution is suitable for a cell using carbon material capable of being doped and dedoped with lithium ions as a negative electrode active material and complexed oxide of lithium and a transition metal as a positive electrode active material.
