A strap is connected to an electronic device and used when the electronic device is held by a user with a user's hand. The strap comprises a loop portion formed of a band member in a loop-like shape, a connecting portion joined to the loop portion and connected to the electronic device, and a protecting member formed to cover a joining portion and a portion of a predetermined region in a bifurcation portion in the band member forming the loop portion, the joining portion being a portion where the connecting portion is connected to the band member and the bifurcation portion bifurcating and extending out from the joining portion, thereby protecting the user's hand.

Strap and electronic device

An information processing unit of the present invention includes a display panel capable of displaying a video image; and a casing having a rear face panel that covers at least a back side of the display panel, the back side being opposite to a display face of the display panel. In the information processing unit, the rear face panel has an opposed face opposed to the display panel, and the opposed face includes a wall-thinned portion having a small thickness, and a wall-thickened portion that is a part of the wall-thinned portion having a thickness increased in a direction toward the display panel, and the wall-thickened portion is formed continuously from one side to an opposite side of the opposed face, the one side and the opposite side forming a perimeter of the opposed face and being opposite to each other.

Information processing unit

There is provided a thin-plate shaped chassis for an electronic apparatus, which has a plurality of step portions extended substantially in parallel with each other in such a way as to form at least one bulge portion which is bulged in a convex shape. The step portions are formed to have a larger thickness than that of other thin-plate portion having a predetermined thickness, and wherein there is provided at least one rib having a predetermined height which extends from the step portion to the thin-plate portion.

Chassis for electronic apparatus

Provided are a housing and an electronic device that ensure sufficient strength even when reduced in thickness. A carbon fiber layer included in the housing is disposed such that the orientation direction of carbon fibers is perpendicular to the lengthwise direction of the long sides of a back face panel, thus enabling improving the flexural strength of the back face panel. This enables increases in the number of carbon fibers per unit of area of the back face panel, and enables the length of each carbon fiber to be reduced. Accordingly, it is possible to cause the carbon fibers to flex less readily, thus enabling improving the strength in the flexing direction of the back face panel.

Housing and electronic device

An operation unit has an operation surface for accepting an input operation. In a plan view, the operation surface has a rectangular contour including a plurality of sides and a plurality of corner portions. When each point at which extensions of adjacent two of the plural sides cross each other is defined as a virtual intersection, and when an intersection at which respective diagonals linking the virtual intersections cross each other is defined as a virtual center, the contour of the corner portion crosses the diagonal that passes through the virtual intersection and the virtual center, at a point between the virtual intersection in the vicinity of the corner portion and the virtual center. The corner portions is a specific corner portion having an intersection with the diagonal at a position closer to the virtual center than the adjacent two corner portions.

The present invention improves the operability when opening and closing a cover. Since the cover is curved such that the front face is in a concave form, when opening a memory slot, part of the cover is lifted from a first casing by simply removing a screw from the first casing and the cover. The cover can be detached from the first casing by holding the lifted portion of the cover, and, thus, the memory slot can be opened easily without using the weight of the cover. Accordingly, it is possible to improve the operability when attaching a memory module to the memory slot or when detaching a memory module from the memory slot.

Electronic apparatus provided with a detachable electrical component

An information processing unit of the present invention includes: a housing that incorporates an information processor; a handle arranged on one side surface of the housing; and support members that are arranged on the one side surface of the housing to protrude and support the handle. The support members respectively are arranged continuously from the one side surface to a pair of other side surfaces adjacent to the one side surface in a direction in which the handle is bridged. Each of the support members has a bent portion between the one side surface and each of the other side surfaces. Thus, a stress applied between the first housing and a handle mechanism when, for example, a user carries a notebook PC holding a handle can be dispersed, so that the handle can be fixed to the first housing with improved strength.

Since an information processing unit of the present invention includes a protrusion portion on a back face side of a first casing, it is possible to reduce an impact transmitted to a notebook PC when the notebook PC is placed in an upright position on the surface of a desk. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the notebook PC from being damaged. Furthermore, since the protrusion portion is provided to the back face side of the first casing, it is possible not to allow the notebook PC to stand self-supported in an upright position. Therefore, the notebook PC will not be placed carelessly in an upright position on the surface of a desk or the like; thus, it is possible to prevent the PC from being broken or damaged due to a fall.

In the cover opening and dosing device of the present invention, among clearances between a cover and a first cabinet, a clearanceclosest to protrusions on the first cabinet is made to have a larger width than other clearances. Thus, even when the protrusions are accidentally bumped against the wall or the like and the first cabinet in the vicinity of the protrusions is locally deformed, it is possible to absorb the deformation. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the possibility of the development of trouble in opening and dosing the cover.

Cover opening and closing device and information processing unit

A drainage structure of the present invention includes a drainage groove, a drain, and a groove portion. Thus, even in the case where a user accidentally spills a liquid such as water on an upper face of a first housing, intrusion of the liquid into a disk drive can be prevented, and damage to the disk drive can be prevented. Moreover, the drain is connected to the groove portion. Thus, a liquid that drains from the drain can be collected in the groove portion. Accordingly, the liquid can be prevented from spreading over a wide area, and adhesion of the liquid to various types of electric components disposed in a back face of the first housing can be prevented.

A cover opening/closing device of the present invention is formed so that a height of a rib to be in contact with a sealing member asymptotically decreases from a shaft toward an edge of a cover opposite to the shaft. With this configuration, the cover can be closed with only a small load imposed on the cover, whereby the operability in the opening/closing of the cover can be improved. Further, air-tightness of a recessed part provided with a disk drive sealed by the cover can be ensured.

Cover opening/closing device and information processing unit

In a grip device of the present invention, shielding members are placed in the openings of a handle in which arm members are to be arranged, respectively. This can make it difficult for a foreign matter to enter the handle via the openings. The presence of the shielding members can prevent a foreign matter from being caught between the handle and each of the arm members when the handle is moved from the extended position to the retracted position, resulting in a smooth movement of the handle.
