An asset management apparatus includes a processor for conducting arithmetic operation processing and a storage device, and executes an asset management program to detect unfairness. The asset management program includes a common asset management part common to the asset management apparatus and other devices, and a device specific asset management part specific to the asset management apparatus. The asset management apparatus acquires the device specific asset management part and device specific part setting information. When executing the asset management program, the asset management apparatus refers to the device specific part setting information, links the device specific asset management part to the asset management program, and executes the linked asset management program.

Regarding first and second audio data to be reproduced simultaneously within a certain time period, a computer which has a storage device records the first audio data to the storage device within the period while at the same time reproducing only the second audio data, and, after having reproduced the second audio data, reproduces the first audio data while forcing its playback speed to increase with time. A personal digital assistant comprises a loss detector to detect a lost state and a value information retainer for retaining a value assessment index, which are numerical values indicating data values. When a lost state is detected by the loss detector, a data recovery sequence is determined based on the data values and data is transmitted to another terminal. In determining the recovery sequence, electrical energy required for data transmission is calculated using a power consumption table and the remaining battery power level measured by a remaining battery power level meter is referenced.

Similarly, the mobile terminal also has a short-distance communication device for carrying out communication with the electronic notice board located in a predetermined communication range and a second communication device for exchanging data with the electronic notice board after the user of the mobile terminal has been authenticated. Since users of the electronic notice board must be close by, it is possible to avoid improper use of the electronic notice board by any user located a long distance away from the electronic notice board.

A method for inserting monitor code into a program, improved to monitor the execution of any part of a program, is proposed. By embedding monitor code in place within a sequence of executable codes constituting a function to be monitored when reading the program and executing monitor actions through the intervention of stub functions during the program execution, monitoring the program execution is performed without placing loads on the run of the program other than the functions to be monitored.
