A cutting mechanism for a printing apparatus, the cutting mechanism includes: a cutter including a cutting blade and a blade receiving member, the cutter being configured to cut at least part of a printing medium with the cutting blade while the blade receiving member is receiving a force from the cutting blade; and a support member provided to suppress deformation of the blade receiving member, wherein the blade receiving member is adjacent to and fixed to the support member.

A wearable electronic device includes: a terminal main body part configured to execute predetermined processing; a first button for performing an operation input to the terminal main body part; and a wearable member configured to support the terminal main body part and the first button, and capable of being worn on a finger of a wearer. The first button is arranged on the wearable member such that, when the wearable member is worn, the first button is positioned on a nail side around a thumb of the wearer.

A portable terminal includes a device body, a grip section located closer to a first end than to a second end of the device body, and a projecting section located closer to the second end than to the first end of the device body. An operation switch is provided between the projection section and the first end of the device body. The operation switch includes a pressing surface that is at an angle with respect to a thickness direction of the device body to face outward from the device body and in a direction toward the second end of the device body. The grip section includes a sloped surface provided between the operation switch and the first end of the device body. And the sloped surface faces away from a direction faced by the pressing surface of the operation switch.

A portable terminal including a grip section provided as one end of a terminal main body and capable of being gripped by one hand of a user in a gripping style where the user places the thumb on a first surface of the terminal main body and holds a second surface on the rear side thereof by the index and middle fingers, in which the second surface has a first raised portion provided such that a first vertex portion is positioned between the index and middle fingers, and a second raised portion having a second vertex portion such that the index finger is interposed between the first and second vertex portions, and in which a switch section is provided such that a pressing target portion is exposed to a sloped surface area of the second raised portion on a side opposite to a side where the index finger is positioned.

A portable terminal including a battery accommodating section having an opening for battery insertion and removal which is provided at a position shifted to one end of a terminal main body on a predetermined surface of the terminal main body, a battery cover for covering the opening, and a switch section provided closer to an other end of the terminal main body than the battery accommodating section, on the predetermined surface of the terminal main body, in which the battery cover is provided extending from the one end to a position beyond the switch section.

A printer in which when an optical disk is inserted into a conveyance path in a printer body, an inlet cover is moved to a position where the inlet cover opens an inlet in a cover provided on the printer body. This causes a cutter button that operates a cutter for a tape-like printing medium to be locked by the inlet cover. Thus, when the optical disk is printed, the cutter is rendered inoperable. Accordingly, the printer can prevent a trouble such as inadvertently operates the cutter, thereby damaging the disk or the cutter itself.

Printer

A printer for printing character information on an optical disk using an ink cartridge. The printer comprises a printer cover for opening/closing a cartridge receiving section into which the ink cartridge will be loaded. When the ink cartridge is loaded into the cartridge receiving section, the cover is closed and then the optical disk is inserted into the printer. Then, printing is started. The cover is engaged with the printer body in a closed state. The cover is disengaged by operating an operation button. When the optical disk is inserted into the printer body, an inlet cover is pushed by the optical disk so as to be upstanding. This causes a lock member to protrude so as to engage with the operation button, thereby locking the operation button and hence rendering the cover unopenable.

Prevention of damage to an optical disk in a printer due to inadvertent handling

A main body has a receiving section, which contains an ink ribbon cassette holding an ink ribbon, together with an optical disk. The ink ribbon and the optical disk are fed by a platen roller, and printing is performed on the optical disk through a thermal head. The optical disk is inserted from an insertion port at a side of the main body parallel to the feed direction of the ink ribbon. When the optical disk is inserted from an ejection port in a direction orthogonal to the fed direction of the ink ribbon, an insertion-prevention member prevents the insertion of the optical disk.

Printing apparatus

When a thermal head prints on a print tape with a tape cassette retained in a receiving section of a main body, the print tape undergone printing is cut by a stationary blade and a movable blade of a cutting mechanism, and when the thermal head performs printing on an optical disk retained in the receiving section of the main body, the cutting section does not operate to the optical disk undergone printing.
