An electric drive apparatus includes a controller for controlling an electric motor and a continuously-variable transmission connected with the motor. The controller controls the motor and the continuously-variable transmission in a first control mode to control the transmission ratio of the continuously-variable transmission to a predetermined fixed ratio so as to hold the transmission ratio at the fixed ratio, and to control the motor to achieve the demand motor torque when a demand motor operation point determined from a predetermined assumed ratio is within a predetermined operation range, and to control the motor and the continuously-variable transmission in a second control mode to vary the transmission ratio and to control the motor to achieve a desired driving torque for a driven member driven by the motor when the demand motor operation point is not within the predetermined operation range.

Electric drive apparatus and process

An accumulator () is connected to a line pressure oil passage () via an electromagnetic cut-off valve () and a one-way valve (), a three-way electromagnetic switching valve (), and a pressure holding valve () are additionally installed on clutch pressure oil passage () of a low clutch () which is engaged at a time of an engine stop. The accumulator is cut off from the line pressure oil passage and the low clutch is communicated with the pressure holding valve and the clutch pressure is held to a value immediately before a torque transmission control, at the time of the engine stop and, during an engine restart, the electromagnetic cut-off valve is duty controlled in accordance with an accelerator opening angle and the clutch pressure is discharged from the accumulator.

Hydraulic pressure control apparatus for vehicle with automatic transmission

A belt type continuously variable transmission includes a continuously variable shift mechanism having a primary pulley, a secondary pulley and a belt wound around the respective pulleys, a pulley thrust calculation unit that calculates a pulley thrust, which is used to bias the respective pulleys in a direction for reducing the pulley width, so as to include a predetermined margin, a hydraulic control unit that controls an oil pressure supplied to each of the pulleys on the basis of the calculated pulley thrust, and an upshift determination unit that determines whether or not an upshift, during which the speed ratio is reduced, is underway. The pulley thrust calculation unit sets the predetermined margin to be smaller when an upshift is determined to be underway than when an upshift is determined not to be underway.

Belt type continuously variable transmission and control method thereof

A process for producing a pulley for a belt drive CVT, including subjecting tapered surfaces of a preform of at least one of input and output pulleys to surface hardening, subjecting the surface-hardened tapered surfaces of the preform to hard turning to form microgrooves radially spaced from one another thereon, between which microprojections are formed, and reducing a height of the microprojections. Alternatively, a process for producing a pulley for a belt drive CVT, including subjecting tapered surfaces of a preform of at least one of input and output pulleys to surface hardening, subjecting the surface-hardened tapered surfaces of the preform to shot peening, and subjecting the shot-peened tapered surfaces of the preform to finishing to form microgrooves having a substantially equal pitch thereon.

Process for producing a pulley for a continuously variable belt drive transmission

A hydraulic control apparatus includes a continuously-variable transmission; a line-pressure control section configured to produce a line pressure by adjusting a discharge pressure of an oil pump; a first hydraulic-pressure control section configured to adjust a first hydraulic pressure based on the line pressure, the first hydraulic pressure being supplied to the drive pulleys; and a second hydraulic-pressure control section configured to adjust a second hydraulic pressure based on the line pressure, the second hydraulic pressure being supplied to the driven pulleys. The continuously-variable transmission includes a pair of drive pulleys including a first movable pulley and a first fixed pulley; a pair of driven pulleys including a second movable pulley and a second fixed pulley; and a belt wound between the pair of drive pulleys and the pair of driven pulleys. The line-pressure control section is configured to adjust the line pressure to a value set by adding a margin pressure to higher one of the first hydraulic pressure and the second hydraulic-pressure, and configured to reduce the margin pressure when the first hydraulic pressure is higher than the second hydraulic pressure.

Hydraulic control apparatus and method for belt-type continuously-variable transmission

A continuously variable belt drive transmission, including input and output pulleys each having axially opposed tapered surfaces, and an endless belt including a plurality of metal elements each having opposed side faces contacted with the respective tapered surfaces of the input and output pulleys. Each of the opposed side faces is formed with a plurality of microscopic projections and recesses arranged along a radial direction of the input and output pulleys upon being in contact with the respective tapered surfaces of the input and output pulleys. The tapered surfaces of at least the input pulley are formed with microgrooves that are radially spaced from one another and have a pitch not more than a width of each of the microscopic projections on the side faces of the metal element.

A control device for a belt continuously variable transmission with a primary pulley, a secondary pulley and a V-belt, includes an oil pressure control unit which applies a thrust to each of the primary pulley and the secondary pulley, and a controller. The controller judges whether or not a pulley ratio is less than 1. When the pulley ratio is less than 1, the controller sets a target thrust of the secondary pulley on the basis of an input torque to the primary pulley and a coefficient of static friction between an element forming the V-belt and the secondary pulley, and then to instruct the oil pressure control unit to apply the target thrust to the secondary pulley. When the pulley ratio is at least 1, the controller sets a target thrust of the primary pulley on the basis of the input torque to the primary pulley and a coefficient of dynamic friction between the element forming the V-belt and the primary pulley, and then to instruct the oil pressure control unit to apply the target thrust to the primary pulley.

A gear change control system of a belt-type continuously variable transmission includes: a movable pulley piston chamber for causing a thrust force to a movable pulley varying a groove width of primary pulley and secondary pulley. The movable pulley piston chamber has double-piston constitution including: a primary clamp chamber and a secondary clamp chamber, for causing a clamp force of clamping the belt, and a cylinder chamber including a primary pulley cylinder chamber and a secondary pulley cylinder chamber, for causing a differential thrust force at a gear change. A system for controlling an idle-stop vehicle includes an ECU which carries out idle stop when the idle-stop permission conditions are established, and engine restart and engagement of a forward clutch when the idle-stop release conditions are established after engine stop. The ECU is so programmed as to estimate a heat generation amount of the forward clutch at engine restart after idle stop, permit next idle stop when the heat generation amount is smaller than a first set value, permit next idle stop, after a lapse of a predetermined time, when the heat generation amount is equal to or greater than the first set value and equal to or smaller than a second set value which is greater than the first set value, and prohibit next idle stop when the heat generation amount is greater than the second set value.

A hydraulic pressure control system for an automatic transmission is comprised of an engagement element engaged when the vehicle runs and a first engagement control actuator controlling the engagement element by supplying the controlled hydraulic pressure to the engagement element when the vehicle starts running. An effective cross sectional area of the engagement element is set at a minimum area which has an engagement capacity capable of transmitting a maximum torque inputted from the engine when the engagement element receives a maximum pressure controlled by the first engagement control actuator.
