An automatic transmission that includes oil passages with a simple structure provided for twin clutches can allow the number of production steps to be reduced. The automatic transmission includes a number of gear trains equal to the number of speeds between a primary shaft and a countershaft. The automatic transmission performs connection and disconnection of a rotational driving force between a crankshaft and a gearbox by means of twin hydraulic clutches including first and second clutches, which are made of the same components and disposed on the axis of the primary shaft back to back. Oil passages can be formed into a more simple shape and can be configured to have the same total length. The first clutch performs connection and disconnection for first and third speeds, and the second clutch performs connection and disconnection for second and fourth speeds.

Automatic transmission

To alleviate shift shock of an automatic transmission provided with a twin clutch. An automatic transmission is provided with gear trains equal in number to the number of speed ratios between a primary shaft and a counter shaft. A first hydraulic clutch and second hydraulic clutch interrupt and connect the transmission of rotation between a crankshaft and the transmission. A changeover valve is provided to connect the pressure of a working fluid to any one of the first and second clutches. A pair of orifice control valves are disposed between the changeover valve and the first clutch and between the changeover valve and the second clutch, respectively. A pair of accumulators are disposed between the changeover valve and the first clutch and between the changeover valve and the second clutch, respectively.

Hydraulic control apparatus for automatic transmission

A vehicular transmission has a structure which enables a reverse idle gear to absorb and reduce excessive back torque inputted from drive wheels. At the time of reverse traveling motion, a counter shaft and a reverse gear are connected to each other through the intermediation of a clutch mechanism, whereby the power of the counter shaft is transmitted from the reverse gear, a driven gear, a hollow shaft, and a drive gear to the drive shaft by way of a final gear. When a large back torque is inputted to the final gear from the drive shaft, the inputted back torque is transmitted to the drive gear, and is then further transmitted to the driven gear by way of the hollow shaft. Since the hollow shaft is thin-walled and has reduced rigidity, it undergoes circumferential twisting due to the back torque inputted, whereby the back torque is reduced.

Vehicular transmission

A power unit with a multi-stage automatic transmission having two clutches for use in a vehicle as an automatic transmission. The transmission has a first group of driving gears fixed to a tubular auxiliary main shaft end a first group of follower gears rotatably mounted on a counter shaft with a first and only clutch performing powering engagement between the main shaft end the tubular auxiliary main shaft. The transmission has a second group of driving gears rotatably mounted on the main shaft and a second group of follower gears fixed to a tubular auxiliary counter shaft with a second clutch providing power connection between the counter shaft and the tubular auxiliary counter shaft.

Power unit vehicle use automatic transmission device

In the transmissions of the background art, two larger-diameter gears are mounted on a final shaft thereby causing an increase in weight of the transmission. The present invention reduces the weight of a transmission by mounting only one larger-diameter gear on a final shaft. The transmission of the present invention includes an output shaft; a countershaft extending parallel to the output shaft; an intermediate shaft extending parallel to the output shaft; a forward drive gear rotatably supported relative to the countershaft; a reverse drive gear rotatably supported relative to the countershaft; a first intermediate gear rotatably supported relative to the intermediate shaft, the first intermediate gear normally meshing with the reverse drive gear; a second intermediate gear rotatably supported relative to the intermediate shaft, the second intermediate gear being interlocked with the first intermediate gear to rotate therewith; an output shaft driven gear fixed to the output shaft, the output shaft driven gear being normally meshing with the forward drive gear and the second intermediate gear; and a gear selecting and fixing device axially movably mounted on the countershaft for selectively fixing the forward drive gear and the reverse drive gear to the countershaft.

Transmission

A structure is provided for receiving and delivering oil from a first oil path in a wall of a casing to a second oil path within a rotating shaft supported by the casing on an inner side surface of the casing. A recess is formed in which the first oil path is opened. A collar is positioned on an inner peripheral surface of the recess. The collar is fitted in a floating state through an O-ring. On the inner peripheral surface of the collar an end portion of the rotating shaft is pivotally fitted to open the second oil path within the recess.

Structure of receiving and delivering oil

Supplying fluids different in pressure from one end of a revolving shaft without providing a diagonal hole in the revolving shaft for supply holes for feeding hydraulic fluid and lubricating oil. The time for manufacturing and the cost of providing a hydraulic fluid feeder to the revolving shaft is reduced. A hydraulic fluid feeder includes a central hole provided on the centerline of the revolving shaft. Hollow tubes having a smaller outside diameter than the inside diameter of the central hole are concentrically inserted into the central hole and the central hole is partitioned. Either of the passages formed by partitioning functions as a hydraulic fluid supply passage for the hydraulic equipment and the other functions as a hydraulic fluid supply passage for another piece of hydraulic equipment or a lubricating oil supply passage for a bearing provided on the revolving shaft.

Hydraulic fluid feeder

A power transmission apparatus for an engine of a vehicle. The apparatus includes a starting clutch for smoothly connecting rotation of a crankshaft to a transmission upon starting of the vehicle, a hydrostatic continuously variable transmission for performing speed change depending upon a capacity difference between a swash plate hydraulic pump and a swash plate hydraulic motor to transmit rotation of the crankshaft at a reduced speed to a driving wheel, and a slider for moving a ball screw back and forth to change the angle of the swash plate of the swash plate hydraulic motor. The starting clutch can be a torque converter.

Power transmission mechanism for an engine of a vehicle

An internal combustion engine including a torque converter on a crankshaft, and a single oil passage provided in the crankshaft for supplying, in common, both a working oil for the torque converter and a lubricating oil for the engine. A pump impeller of the torque converter is fixed to the crankshaft, and a clutch for connection and disconnection of engine output is provided on the side of a transmission.

Internal combustion engine with torque converter

A structure has individual oil passages for different applications of oil. A torque converter is provided on a crankshaft having an axially extending center hole. A crank chamber and a transmission chamber are separated from each other through a one-way valve. A pipe is inserted in the center hole of the crankshaft to form an oil passage for supplying hydraulic oil for driving the torque converter, an oil passage returned from the torque converter, and an oil passage for supplying a lubricating oil to the area surrounding the crankshaft. The oil passage returned from the torque converter is in communication with a chamber defined by a pair of inner and outer oil seals for sealing a bearing mounted on the crankshaft, a lower portion of the transmission chamber, and an oil passage having a check valve at the downstream end thereof.

An internal combustion engine with a hydraulically operated automatic transmission includes a crankcase that is divided on a plane perpendicular to a crankshaft and an outer face of the crankcase in a direction of the crankshaft is covered with a crankcase cover. A transmission gear ratio of the transmission is automatically changed over by control of oil pressures to remove a valve body for readily controlling oil pressures and for raising the accessibility of maintenance. Internal combustion engine with hydraulically operated automatic transmission

A transmission of an internal combustion engine is used in a saddle-type vehicle (buggy) for running on rough terrain. A crankshaft of the vehicle is arranged so that it is parallel with the traveling direction of the body. The transmission includes a mechanism for switching a gear for forward travel and a gear for backward travel. At least a part of the mechanism for switching the gear for forward travel and the gear for backward travel is provided between a crankcase and a crankcase cover. At least one of shafts forming the switching mechanism is partially overlapped with a main shaft or a counter shaft in the axial direction.

Transmission of internal combustion engine

An output shaft structure enabling easy and secure positioning of an output shaft for a shaft driven vehicle having an internal combustion engine. The output shaft structure provides first and second cases which mutually connect on a face perpendicular to a crankshaft and form a crankcase, a case cover attached to the outside of the first case and the output shaft arranged in the crankcases and supported by a first bearing provided to the case cover and a second bearing provided to the first case. Also provided is an input gear for the output shaft arranged so that it touches the outside face of the second bearing. Further, the output shaft is provided with a first large diameter part positioned by touching the inside face of the first bearing, and a second large diameter part positioned by touching the outside face of the input gear.

Output shaft structure of shaft driven vehicle

In an oil passage structure in a rotary shaft, including two systems of oil passages different in pressure that are provided extending from both ends of the shaft, the rotary shaft is provided with oil supply holes in the radial direction of the shaft for connection between a center hole in the shaft and locations to be supplied with oil. The oil supply holes are bored from the outside of the shaft. At this time, burrs are generated at end portions of the oil supply holes on the side fronting on the center hole. Where the depth of the shaft center hole is a dead end, removal of the burrs is not easy. The shaft center hole is used as an oil passage wherein burrs, if any, in the hole can be easily removed. The two oil passages are in communication with each other through a communication passage smaller than the oil passages in diameter. The smaller-diameter communication passage is closed by pressing a steel ball therein, thereby making both of the oil passages independent from each other.
