To reduce noise, there is provided an alternator for motor vehicles having a rotor and a stator which is mounted between a pair of brackets. In the alternator a stator core forming the stator is made up of laminations of thin sheets. And at least a part of the thin sheets making up the stator core are split into four divisions or more in the circumferential direction; the thin sheets of each layer being laid with splits thereof arranged alternately in the circumferential direction.

And a method for generating alternating current by an induction alternating current generator having plural claw poles of a pair of rotor cores engaging each other at a gap and first electromagnetic exciting means as a first exciter inside the rotor cores, includes the step of controlling magnetic flux permeating a stator core outside the rotor cores by controlling second electromagnetic exciting means mounted in the spaces of the above-mentioned gaps and generating magnetic field in the direction of repelling leak magnetic flux between the claw poles.

Induction alternating current generator and a generation method

A vehicle alternator output rectifier instrument in which mesa structure Zener diodes, formed by diffusion of impurity on a P-type silicon substrate, are used as rectifier elements which are used in rectifier circuits for rectifying an alternate current output of a vehicle alternator. Since the vehicle alternator output rectifier instrument employs the above Zener diodes, this rectifier instrument can endure high temperature circumstances, considerably reduce a reverse leakage current to thereby prevent a battery voltage from being discharged and reduce a radio noise to thereby reduce a bad influence exerted upon an electronic device serving as a load.
