An electrode plate in which electrode active material powder and an electrode mixture layer mainly composed of a thermoplastic binder are held on a conductive substrate is crushed. Then, the crushed materials are mixed with organic solvent so that a coating material made of the crushed electrode is prepared. The coating material made of the crushed electrode is applied to the surface of the conductive substrate so that an electrode is manufactured. As an alternative to this, an electrode mixture coating material made of electrode active material powder, thermoplastic resin and organic solvent is dried so that a solid electrode is obtained. Crushed materials obtained by crushing the solid electrode are mixed with organic solvent so that a coating material made of the crushed electrode is prepared. The coating material made of the crushed electrode is applied to the conductive substrate so that an electrode is manufactured. The manufacturing methods enable an electrode having excellent characteristics to be manufactured with a low cost by reusing a waste coating material generated because of a process for manufacturing electrodes or scraps of electrodes or electrodes included in spent batteries.

Method for manufacturing electrode

A magnetic recording medium carrying a magnetic layer thereon, the magnetic layer primarily composed of binder and magnetic powder, wherein the binder is composed of an acrylic compound having a plurality of unsaturated bonds in its molecule and a thermoplastic resin in a weight ratio of 80:20 to 20:80, and is hardened under irradiation.

A magnetic recording medium having low friction coefficient and superior in aging characteristics is disclosed. The magnetic recording medium is provided with a lubricant which is strongly bonded to the magnetic recording medium by a bombardment of an electron beam. In one embodiment, the lubricant containing a molecular chain having a lubricating property, and a double bond sensitive to dissociation products such as free radicals are coated on a magnetic layer and then electron beam irradiates the magnetic layer. A radical reaction then occurs causing a covalent bond of the lubricant to the magnetic recording layer.

A magnetic recording medium is formed of a non-magnetic base and a magnetic layer coated thereon and which contains magnetizable particles dispersed in resinous binder and, as a lubricating agent, a 2-ethylhexanoic acid ester of a saturated alcohol having 12 to 20 carbon atoms.

An improved magnetic recording medium comprising a non-magnetic base, and a magnetic layer formed on the non-magnetic base and containing magnetizable particles dispersed in a resinous binder. The magnetic layer includes an isobutylene oligomer in sufficient amounts to function as a lubricating agent for the magnetic recording medium.

A leader tape for a magnetic recording tape having a coating layer consisting of a binder and a white pigment. A surface resistivity of the coating layer is less than 10.sup.12 ohms/sq. and a transmissivity of the leader tape is more than 20 percent.

A magnetic recording medium including a flexible non-magnetic film base and a magnetic layer thereon which contains and/or is coated with an organosilicon compound having lubricating properties, said compound having the following formula: ##STR1## WHERE R is a saturated or unsaturated aliphatic group having from 7 to 17 carbon atoms and n is an integer from 1 to 3. The static friction coefficient and the tendency of the magnetic layer to shed powder are both substantially reduced in the improved magnetic recording medium of the present invention.
