Provided is a pneumatic fender that suppresses damage to a flexible hollow body and an energy-absorbing body and exhibits improved ship sway reduction effects. A pneumatic fender is provided with an orifice that allows for communication between an interior space of a flexible hollow body and the interior space of the casing, and a safety valve that opens and allows for communication between the internal space of the flexible hollow body and the internal space of the casing by opening when the internal pressure of the flexible hollow body reaches a predetermined pressure.

Pneumatic fender

A crawler shoe used in an endless track vehicle having metal shoes made of iron or the like. The metal shoe has two integral projections projecting toward the ground contact side of the shoe. An elastic shoe made of rubber or the like is integrally molded and fixed to the metal shoe around the projections. The elastic shoe is provided with tapered surfaces, stepped portions, or transverse grooves in areas opposite from the projections to reduce shearing stresses exerted on the end portions of the elastic shoe.

Shoe of crawler belt or chain

A crawler shoe used in an endless track vehicle having metal shoes made of iron or the like. The metal shoe has two integral projections projecting toward the ground contact side of the shoe. A resilient shoe made of rubber or the like is integrally molded and fixed to the metal shoe around the projections. A reinforced member is embedded in the elastic shoe between two adjacent projections.

A buckling fender comprising a cylindrical body molded from at least two rubber-like elastic materials differing in modulus of elasticity. At least two rubber-like elastic materials are combined such that the apparent modulus of elasticity at the central part of the cylindrical body in its axial direction becomes lower than that at both end portions.

Process and apparatus for fabricating a pneumatic rubber fender comprising a cylindrical body of a combination of a plurality of rubber and reinforced rubber layers, both of the terminal ends of which are closed so that compressed air can be sealed therein. In the fabrication process, the cylindrical body of a non-vulcanized rubber fender, one end of which is closed by a first end plate, is firstly formed on a fabrication drum provided with a cylindrical portion and an end plate portion closing one end of the cylindrical portion. The connection of a second end plate with an opened free end of the above-mentioned cylindrical body of the non-vulcanized rubber fender is carried out in such a condition that the above-mentioned opened free end is turned back while the cylindrical body of the non-vulcanized rubber fender is mounted on the fabrication drum. After completion of the above-mentioned connecting operation, the non-vulcanized rubber fender is withdrawn from the fabrication drum and thereafter subjected to the vulcanizing operation.
