An agitation apparatus () has a substantially cylindrically shaped agitation vessel (); a rotation shaft () provided along the central axis of the agitation vessel (); a substantially cylindrically shaped agitation member () having an outer diameter smaller than the inner diameter of the agitation vessel () and being fitted to the rotation shaft () so as to rotate concentrically with an inner circumferential surface of the agitation vessel (); and a plurality of through holes () formed through the agitation member () in radial directions of the agitation member. In the agitation apparatus (), a gap between the inner circumferential surface of the agitation vessel () and the outer circumferential surface of the agitation member () is partially varied along a vertical direction of the agitation member (). For example, the gap between the inner circumferential surface of the agitation vessel () and the outer circumferential surface of the agitation member () is wider at a lower portion (S) of the agitation member () than at an upper portion (S) of the agitation member ().

Agitation apparatus

A battery includes: a first member having an opening a housing space which houses a generation element; and a second member which closes the opening of the first member. The first member and the second member have welded portions which are welded to each other. A groove which can receive a part of molten metal MM generated upon welding is formed in a channel between the first and the second member, i.e., from the welded portion to the housing space. This prevents flow of the molten metal generation upon welding to the housing space. A vehicle using the battery and a method for manufacturing such a battery are also provided.

Battery, vehicle using the battery, and battery manufacturing method

An electrode terminalis connected to a current collector partof electrodes through a deformation restricting member. The deformation restricting memberis placed close to the inner wall peripheral portion of an outer package including sealing parts, thereby forming a deformation-restricting partto restrict the inward deformation of the laminated films. In a section extending from the inside end of the deformation restricting memberto a battery element, the laminated filmsface the spaceto allow the deformation of the laminated filmsin response to the change of internal pressure. At the decrease of internal pressure, the contraction of the laminated filmscan be localized in the deformation-allowing part, thereby reducing the bending stress on an end portion of the sealing parts. Thus, the laminate type secondary battery and the battery pack thereof can be provided with the effect that the concentration of stress on the bonded part of the laminated films can be suppressed even when the expansion and contraction of the laminated films are repeated in response to the change of internal pressure of the laminated films bonded to hermetically accommodate the battery element.

Laminate battery with deformation restricting member

A cylinder-shaped secondary battery includes a container, and a rolled electrode. The container includes a cylinder-shaped inner member, a cylinder-shaped outer member, and a pair of ring-shaped end plates. The electrode is accommodated in the container in an electrically insulating manner, rolled spirally, and has a pair of tabs and a hollow formed therein and extending in an axial direction thereof. Moreover, the electrode includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode and a separator disposed between the positive electrode and negative electrode so as to separate them. The inner member of the container has opposite ends and a hollow formed therein and extending in an axial direction thereof, and is disposed in the axially-extending hollow of the electrode. The outer member of the container has opposite ends, and is disposed on a centrifugal side of the electrode. The end plates of the container close the opposite ends of the inner and outer members, and are pierced through by terminals of the battery in an electrically insulating manner. Moreover, the end plates are bonded to the opposite ends of the inner member and/or the outer member by welding. The thus constructed battery has such good heat-radiating ability and high pressure resistance that it can stably carry out its functions.
