The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing an ionomer resin, comprising the steps of: (i) adding a poor solvent to a crude ionomer resin solution comprising a (meth)acrylic acid unit (A), a neutralized (meth)acrylic acid unit (B) and an ethylene unit (C) to allow a granular resin with a peak top particle size of from 50 to 700 μm to be precipitated; and (ii) washing the precipitated granular resin with a washing solution; wherein the total amount of the unit (A) and the unit (B) is from 6 to 10 mol % based on the entire monomeric units constituting the crude ionomer resin.

Method for producing ionomer resin

The problem to be solved of the present invention is to provide a modified vinyl acetal resin for an interlayer film of laminated glass having excellent transparency, impact resistance, heat resistance and molding ability. The means for solving the problem is a modified vinyl acetal resin for an interlayer film of laminated glass comprising 25 to 60 mol % of ethylene units and 24 to 71% by mol of vinyl alcohol units, based on all the monomer units constituting the resin, and having the acetalization degree of 5 mol % or more and less than 40 mol %.

A composition including, with respect to 100 parts by mass of a polyvinyl acetal satisfying definition 1 and/or definition 2, 30 to 70 parts by mass of a plasticizer including 0.5 to 100% by mass of a plasticizer containing a polar group and 0 to 99.5% of a plasticizer containing no polar group. Definition 1: When 1 g of a polyvinyl acetal is dissolved in 100 g of methanol, an undissolved content is 2.5 to 90% by mass. Composition having excellent transparency

Polyvinyl acetal composition

An object is to provide a polyvinyl acetal composition which includes polyvinyl acetals having different average amounts of remaining hydroxyl groups and from which a sheet having excellent transparency can be molded. A polyvinyl acetal composition comprising 3 to 100 parts by mass of polyvinyl acetal (B) with respect to 100 parts by mass of polyvinyl acetal (A), and 0.05 to 0.75 times by mass of compound (C) with respect to the total mass of polyvinyl acetal (A) and polyvinyl acetal (B). The polyvinyl acetal (A) has an average amount of remaining hydroxyl groups of X mol % (X is a positive number), the polyvinyl acetal (B) has an average amount of remaining hydroxyl groups of Y mol % (Y is a positive number), and |X&#x2212;Y|&#x2265;3 is satisfied. The compound (C) is selected from a group consisting of a polyester containing a hydroxyl group, a polyalkylene oxide, and an ester compound containing a hydroxyl group, the ester compound containing a hydroxyl group being an ester compound of one molecule of an m-valent alcohol (m represents an integer of 1 to 3) and n molecules (n represents an integer of 1 to m) of a monovalent carboxylic acid.

A laminate contains a layer A and a layer B. The layer A includes a polyvinyl acetal (A), a plasticizer (Ap), and a dispersant (Ad). The layer B includes a polyvinyl acetal (B) and a plasticizer (Bp) and optionally a dispersant (Bd). A mass ratio of (Ad) to (Ap) is larger than a mass ratio of (Bd) to (Bp). The plasticizer (Ap) and the plasticizer (Bp) are an ester compound of an m-valent alcohol with m molecules of a monovalent carboxylic acid having 8 to 16 carbon atoms, where m is a number of 2 to 4; and an ester compound of an n-valent alcohol with n molecules of a monovalent carboxylic acid having 8 to 16 carbon atoms, where n is a number of 2 to 4, respectively. The dispersant (Ad) and the dispersant (Bd) are obtained by hydrolyzing the plasticizer (Ap) and the plasticizer (Bp), respectively.

There is provided a multilayer film comprising a layer (X) containing a polyvinyl acetal (I) having an acetalization degree of 55 to 80 mol %, a content of a vinyl ester monomer unit of 0.1 to 1.5 mol % and a viscosity-average degree of polymerization of 1,400 to 5,000; and a layer (Y) containing a polyvinyl acetal (II) having an acetalization degree of 70 to 85 mol %, a content of a vinyl ester monomer unit of 5 to 15 mol % and a viscosity-average degree of polymerization of 1,400 to 5,000, wherein the multilayer film satisfies formulas (1) and (2):(A&#x2212;B)/A&#x3c;0.80&#x2003;&#x2003;(1)and1.00&#xd7;10&#x3c;(b/y)/(a/x)&#x3c;2.00&#xd7;10&#x2003;&#x2003;(2).There is thus provided a film which exhibits sufficient sound-absorbability, resistance to coloration by heating, reduction in foreign materials (undissolved materials) and excellent recyclability.

Multilayer film and interlayer film for laminated glass therefrom

Provided is a polyvinyl acetal film which, when used as an intermediate film for a laminated glass, can provide a laminated glass that exhibits a low degree of yellowness and excellent surface appearance, and which is thus useful as a sealing material or intermediate film that can prolong the life of a laminated glass provided with a solar cell or a functional unit. Further, the content of corrosion-causing substance in the polyvinyl acetal film is low, so that the polyvinyl acetal film permits high-temperature lamination and thus ensures excellent productivity. Also provided are a solar cell module and a laminated glass prepared using the polyvinyl acetal film. A plasticized polyvinyl acetal film which comprises 15 to 60 parts by mass of a plasticizer having a total number of 28 or more of carbon atoms and oxygen atoms constituting a molecule based on 100 parts by mass of a polyvinyl acetal resin, and which has an acid value of 5.0 meq/kg or less.

Polyvinyl acetal film and uses thereof

A polyvinyl acetal film as an intermediate film for a laminated glass, can provide a laminated glass that exhibits a low degree of yellowness and excellent surface appearance, and is useful as a sealing material or intermediate film that can prolong the life of a laminated glass provided with a solar cell or functional unit. The content of corrosion-causing substance in the polyvinyl acetal film is low, so that the polyvinyl acetal film permits high-temperature lamination and ensures excellent productivity. A solar cell module and a laminated glass are prepared using the polyvinyl acetal film. A plasticized polyvinyl acetal film which comprises 15 to 60 parts by mass of a plasticizer having a total number of 28 or more of carbon atoms and oxygen atoms constituting a molecule based on 100 parts by mass of a polyvinyl acetal resin, and which has an acid value of 5.0 meq/kg or less.

It is an object of the invention to provide a plasticized polyvinyl acetal composition that is suitably used for an intermediate film of a laminated glass and other applications, specifically, the polyvinyl acetal composition being characterized in that in cases when a layer that is composed of the polyvinyl acetal composition and another resin layer such as a resin layer of a polycarbonate, a poly(meth)acrylic acid ester, or a styrene thermoplastic elastomer are laminated, the plasticizer does not migrate from the polyvinyl acetal layer. The present invention relates to a polyvinyl acetal composition including 100 parts by mass of a polyvinyl acetal and 0.5 to 100 parts by mass of an ester plasticizer or ether plasticizer that is amorphous or has a melting point of 30&#xb0; C. or less, and has a hydroxyl value of 15 to 450 mgKOH/g.
