A control device comprises: a temperature estimating unit for estimating the temperature of a piston of an internal combustion engine of a vehicle; and a control unit which, if the temperature of the piston estimated by the temperature estimating unit has risen to a first threshold corresponding to a heat resisting temperature of the piston, reduces an upper limit value of a fuel injection timing at which a fuel injector for injecting fuel onto the piston injects the fuel, and which increases the upper limit value of the fuel injection timing at a higher temperature than the first threshold when the rise in temperature of the piston stops.

Control device

An internal combustion engine includes: a cylinder including a thrust region and an anti-thrust region; and a plurality of concave portions formed in a belt-like central region including a central portion in the axial direction of the cylinder and extending along the circumferential direction on an inner wall surface. In the central region, the number of concave portions formed in a first partial region having a first predetermined width along the circumferential direction of the thrust region and the number of concave portions formed in a second partial region having a second predetermined width that is smaller than the first predetermined width along the circumferential direction of the anti-thrust region is smaller than the number of concave portions formed in other regions of the central region.

Provided is a piston temperature state monitoring system for an internal combustion engine and a piston temperature monitoring method for an internal combustion engine which are capable of properly managing a history of a piston temperature. When the number of times of a piston temperature suppression control is counted, if a ratio of a temperature difference which is the difference between a maximum limit temperature and a piston temperature to a margin width which is the difference between the maximum limit temperature and a control start temperature is equal to or less than a count threshold ratio set in advance or calculated, a count output system outputs a count signal.
