The present invention relates to a method of producing a cord for a power transmission belt, the method including: a first treatment step of treating an untreated yarn of a cord for a power transmission belt with a first treatment agent including a resin component (A) to obtain a first treated yarn; and a second treatment step of treating the first treated yarn with a second treatment agent including a condensate (B1) of resorcin and formaldehyde, an unmodified latex (B2), and an acid-modified diene-based polymer (B3) to obtain a second treated yarn.

A V-ribbed belt includes a compression rubber layer having a frictional power transmission surface that is covered with a fabric. The present invention relates to a transmission belt which is provided with: a rubber layer that is formed from a vulcanized product of a rubber composition which contains a rubber component containing an ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin elastomer, a filler containing silica, a vulcanizing agent containing a sulfur-based vulcanizing agent, and a curable resin containing an amino resin; and a fiber member that is in contact with the rubber layer.

A power transmission belt with a body made from a first rubber composition in which at least one load carrying member is embedded. The body has a plurality of laterally spaced ribs with exposed surfaces on the inside of the body. The ribs are made from a second rubber composition in which: a) a plasticizer of 8.3 to 10.7 (cal/cm)in solubility parameter; and b) solid lubricant are respectively blended in an amount: i) 5 to 25 pts.wt.; and ii) 5 to 50 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin elastomer. Power transmission belt

A power transmission belt having a body with a rubber layer defining spaced friction drive surfaces at laterally oppositely facing side surfaces. Short reinforcing fibers are embedded in the rubber layer in an amount of 15-50 parts by weight per 100 weight percent of rubber in the rubber layer. The short reinforcing fibers include polyamide short reinforcing fibers that make up at least 50 weight percent of the short reinforcing fibers embedded in the rubber layer. A plurality of the polyamide short reinforcing fibers project from the friction drive surfaces and have exposed, flattened ends. Flat particles of inorganic powder are adhered to the friction drive surfaces to reside captively between the flattened ends of the polyamide short reinforcing fibers and locations on the friction drive surfaces at which the short reinforcing fibers do not project.

A power transmission belt having a body with an inside, an outside, and laterally oppositely facing side surfaces. The body has at least one surface that engages a pulley to frictionally transmit forces between the power transmission belt and pulley. The body includes rubber defining at least a part of the at least one surface. The rubber is a composition made up of a blend of at least: a) 100 parts by weight of an ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin elastomer; b) 10 to 25 parts by weight of a plasticizer having a solubility parameter of from 8.3 to 10.7 (cal/cm); and c) 60 to 110 parts by weight of an inorganic filler.

The present invention provides a friction transmission belt having a friction transmission surface having a rubber composition containing a plasticizer, the plasticizer forming a film on the friction transmission surface, a change in friction coefficient (&#x3bc;) with respect to a change in slipping velocity (V) indicated by a difference between a pulley speed and a belt speed (d&#x3bc;/dv) being 0 or a positive value in a dry state and a wet state.

Rubber composition and power transmission belt incorporating the rubber composition

A power transmission belt having a body with a length, an inside, an outside, and laterally spaced sides. The body has a bonding rubber layer in which elongate load carrying cords are embedded to extend lengthwise of the body. The body has a first layer on the inside of the bonding rubber layer in which a plurality of laterally spaced ribs are formed extending lengthwise of the body, and a second layer on the outside of the bonding rubber layer in which a plurality of laterally spaced ribs are formed extending lengthwise of the body. The bonding rubber layer has a sulfur-crosslinked rubber composition including an ethylene-&agr;-olefin elastomer. At least one of the first and second layers has a crosslinking product that is an organic peroxide-crosslinked rubber composition including an ethylene-&agr;-olefin elastomer.
