A composition suitable for application as a nail polish, the composition comprising: an alcohol solvent; ethylcellulose, in an amount that is about 1.0% by weight of the final composition; a film forming agent that includes maleic acid monobutyl ester-vinyl methyl ether copolymer, and maleic acid monoethyl ester-vinyl methyl ether copolymer, in an amount that is at least 40% by weight of the final composition; isostearyl alcohol, in an amount that is about 3.0% by weight of the final composition; a plasticizer in the form of a citric acid ester, in art amount that is about 1.0% by weight of the final composition; a colorant and a fragrance. This composition is suitable for application to a human nail.

Nail polish formulation

A combination dispenser and applicator has a dispenser body for mounting the dispenser body over a valve of a container of nail polish. The dispenser body has a brush receiver that receives the nail polish from the valve of the container. A disposable applicator brush, not including a valve, but with bristles adjacent a distal end, is shaped to removably engage the brush receiver. The disposable applicator brushes are inexpensive and disposable, and may be readily changed during use of the combination, so that one of the brushes is not used on multiple persons, thereby enabling a more hygienic method of applying nail polish.

Combination dispenser and applicator

A method for treating hair includes applying a first composition to the hair in a foam form and applying a second composition to the hair in foam form. The compositions are mixed on the hair. The first composition may include an oxidative dye. The second composition may include a oxidizing component such as hydrogen peroxide. An applicator for applying the compositions to the hair may take the form of a brush having a cavity thereon through which the foam compositions are delivered to the hair. A kit including the an aerosol container housing the oxidative dye, an aerosol container housing the oxidizing component, and a brush applicator may also be provided.

Hair treatment systems and methods

Embodiments relate to reduced VOC hair spray compositions. One composition includes a concentrate and propellant. The concentrate includes 25-45 weight percent alcohol, 30-50 weight percent methyl acetate, 5-15 weight percent resin, 0.2-1.3 weight percent neutralizer, and 5-25 weight percent water. The propellant comprises dimethyl ether. The composition includes 50 to 90 weight percent concentrate and 10 to 50 weight percent propellant.

Additional additives such as fragrance and botanical extracts may also be added. Such compositions can be easily applied to the lips and offer long wear characteristics.

Additional additives such as fragrance and botanical extracts may also be added. Such compositions can be easily applied to the lips and offer long wear characteristics.

A composition for a powdered hair dye includes an oxidative dye component, an oxidizing component and a thickening component. Other additives including protein derivatives and sucrose may also be utilized. The powdered dye composition may be placed into an applicator container so that the container is partially filled with the dye composition. Then when the user desires to use the dye, water is added to the container, the container shaken to mix the water and the powdered dye composition, and the mixture is then applied to the hair using an application mechanism which allows for easy and efficient application of the dye to the hair.
