A power generation system includes: a heat source having a temperature being changed over time; a flow passage through which a heat medium heated by the heat source passes; a power generation device including a power generation element and a first electrode, the power generation element being electrically polarized by temperature change thereof depending on temperature change of the heat medium, the first electrode extracting electric power from the power generation element; a temperature detection device being disposed on an upstream side relative to the power generation device in the flow passage and detecting the temperature of the heat medium; a voltage application device that applies voltage to the power generation element; and a control device that activates the voltage application device when the temperature increase of the heat medium has been detected and deactivates the voltage application unit when the temperature decrease of the heat medium has been detected.

Power generation system

A power-generating system includes a heat source which is able to produce temporal temperature variation; a first device which is able to produce temporal temperature variation based on the temperature change of the heat source and in which polarization occurs; a second device for taking out a net generating power from the first device; a temperature sensor that detects the temperature of the first device; a voltage application device that applies a voltage to the first device; and a control unit for activating the voltage application device on detecting an increase in temperature of the first device and for stopping the voltage application device on detecting a decrease in temperature of the first device by the temperature sensor.

An object of the present invention is to provide a barrier discharge device capable of increasing the combustion efficiency of an engine while overcoming the problems of the cumbersome replacement of the electrodes and the commercialization of the device. The barrier discharge device of an engine includes a dielectric body and at least two barrier discharge electrodes which are held inside the dielectric body and to which voltages for barrier discharge are applied, wherein each of the barrier discharge electrodes are not exposed to the inside of a cylinder bore and are arranged so as to surround the cylinder bore.

A plasma actuator () includes four electrodes () and three dielectrics () and is disposed on the side of an object surface (B). When a high voltage is applied to the electrodes (), a plasma () is generated at an end () of each dielectric () exposed so as to be accessible to a gas. In the plasma actuator (), the electrodes () and dielectrics () are alternately stacked one on another. The plasma actuator () includes a stepped exposed portion (X). The plasma actuator () in which the electrodes () and dielectrics () are arranged such that the ends () of the dielectrics () are exposed in the normal line direction of the object surface (B) in the stacked order in the stepped exposed portion (X) can suppress the flow of the generated plasma even when the plasma actuator is exposed to a high-speed airflow under high pressure. This stabilizes the plasma.

An electrode for plasma generation according to the present invention includes a plurality of collecting portions having a plurality of through holes, the plurality of collecting portions facing a gas flow in a direction where gas to be treated flows and provided spaced apart from each other. The electrode is applied to a plasma reactor of a treatment device to be provided for a device which discharges the smoke including PM, for example, an exhaust gas purifying device for automobile, or a smoke treatment device used in a facility where the smoke is discharged such as a plant.
