A battery assembly mounted on a hybrid electric vehicle is provided that prevents thermal runaway caused by overcharging. The battery assembly includes a battery having a plurality of cells and a protection switch disposed opposite to the battery. A relay is configured to turn on or off according to an operation of the protection switch and a PRA (power relay assembly) is connected between the relay and the battery.

Disclosed is a battery pack assembly including an apparatus for detecting water accumulation inside an installation region in which a battery pack is installed. The battery pack assembly includes a watertight case installed on a bottom surface of the water accumulation detecting apparatus and assembled with the battery pack therein. The water accumulation detecting apparatus includes a body including a water inlet opening through which water accumulated in the installation region flows in. Battery pack assembly including apparatus for detecting water accumulation and method for detecting water accumulation

Disclosed is a battery cooling structure for an environmental-friendly vehicle. The battery cooling structure for the environmental-friendly vehicle includes a plurality of battery packs that supply power to a motor and are arranged in parallel so as to be spaced a predetermined distance from each other inside a tire well. An inflow duct is disposed to provide fluid communication and connection with the interior of the vehicle so that the air inside the vehicle is sucked into the inflow duct. A plurality of diverging ducts independently supply the air to the respective battery packs which are arranged and spaced a predetermined distance from each other on the downstream side of the inflow duct. A lower duct is disposed under the battery pack and joins diverging air flows, and a cooling fan is disposed on downstream side of the lower duct and is configured to discharge the air to the outside.
