A cogeneration system and a method for controlling the cogeneration system in which waste heat of an engine is mainly used to prevent an outdoor heat exchanger from being frosted, or is used not only to prevent the outdoor heat exchanger from being frosted, but also to enhance the heating performance of an indoor heat exchanger, in accordance with ambient temperature conditions, so that the cogeneration system can positively cope with ambient temperature conditions, and can exhibit a high energy efficiency.

Cogeneration system and method for controlling the same

An exhaust structure for an engine is disclosed. The exhaust structure includes an exhaust line, through which the exhaust gas discharged from the engine passes. The exhaust line has a double pipe structure capable of preventing the condensed water formed in the exhaust line from entering the engine, so that it is possible to prevent engine failure, and thus, to achieve an enhancement in the durability and reliability of the engine.

An air conditioner, in which a controller is installed separately from a plurality of indoor units and a plurality of outdoor units so that only the controller is added and conventional outdoor units are used when plural indoor units are required, thereby reducing costs due to the omission of other outdoor units. The controller determines whether or not the outdoor units are respectively operated according to a signal of a temperature sensing unit, and selectively operates the outdoor units according to a required capacity, thereby increasing the operating efficiency of the air conditioner.

An air conditioner is disclosed which includes a pressurizer for pressurizing a suction-side refrigerant sucked into a compressor, and an auxiliary condenser for condensing a discharge-side refrigerant discharged out of the compressor. Accordingly, it is possible to raise the evaporation pressure of the suction-side refrigerant sucked into the compressor, and to reduce the condensation pressure of the discharge-side refrigerant discharged out of the compressor. As a result, the difference between the suction and discharge pressures of the compressor can be reduced, so that a reduction in compression load can be achieved. Thus, a reduction in power consumption can be achieved.

Air conditioner

A method for controlling multiple compressors for use in an airconditioner is disclosed. In the airconditioner having N compressors, the method sequentially and equally operates the N compressors using a two-dimensional matrix which prevents only a specific compressor from among the N compressors from being repeatedly operated, arranges rows and columns of the two-dimensional matrix to allow all compressors to be alternately operated according to the number of operating compressors from among all compressors, and stochastically operates and stops the N compressors using the two-dimensional matrix. As a result, the method controls the N compressors to be equally operated without overlapping operation times of the N compressors, and alleviates fatigue of the compressors, resulting in equally longer lifetimes of the N compressors.

Method for controlling multiple compressors according to a matrix

A unitary air conditioner comprises a 1-stage thermostat for generating an operation signal for the unitary air conditioner or a stop signal for the unitary air conditioner, a 1-stage indoor unit having an indoor fan, which is rotated according the operation signal from the 1-stage thermostat, a variable-capacity outdoor unit configured to be operated according to the 1-stage thermostat, the variable-capacity outdoor unit having a compressor and an outdoor fan, the operation stage of which is changed according to the operation state of the variable-capacity outdoor unit, and an indoor fan control device for controlling the indoor fan according to the operation stage of the variable-capacity outdoor unit to change the operation state of the indoor fan. The 1-stage indoor unit is operated along with another unit having different stages, and variable control is accomplished, although the 1-stage indoor unit is used, so long as the indoor fan control device is added to the unitary air conditioner. Consequently, a more efficient air conditioning system is accomplished.

Unitary air conditioner

A unitary air conditioner comprises a 1-stage thermostat mounted in a room for generating an air conditioner ON/OFF signal, an indoor unit configured to operate based on a signal from the 1-stage thermostat, and a variable-capacity outdoor unit connected to the 1-stage thermostat and the indoor unit. The variable-capacity outdoor unit has variable operation stages, which are changed based on the previous operation state and the current operation state. When a unitary-capacity operation signal is inputted from the 1-stage thermostat, a start operation stage of an outdoor unit is determined based on the combination of the operation stage of the outdoor unit operated before the operation signal is inputted and the operation time in the stage, and the determined operation is performed. The 1-stage thermostat can be connected to the variable-capacity outdoor unit according to circumstances.

Unitary air conditioner and method of controlling variable operation thereof

Disclosed herein is a method of controlling a linear expansion valve of a cooling cycle apparatus. The method comprises a first step of calculating a target opening level value according to suction overheat level of compressors to control a linear expansion valve based on the calculated target opening level value, and a second step of calculating a new target opening level value according to the suction overheat level of the compressors and discharge temperature of the compressors to control the linear expansion valve based on the calculated new target opening level value. Consequently, the discharge temperature of the compressors is prevented from being excessively increased, and therefore, the compressors are prevented from being overheated and damaged, and reliability of the cooling cycle apparatus is improved.

Cooling cycle apparatus and method of controlling linear expansion valve of the same

A cooling/heating apparatus using a cogeneration system is disclosed. The cooling/heating apparatus includes a discharge-side refrigerant heating unit which supplies heat of exhaust gas generated from an engine to a discharge-side refrigerant line connected to a compressor included in a cooling/heating unit, a suction-side refrigerant heating unit which supplies heat of cooling water used to cool the engine and the heat of the exhaust gas to a suction-side refrigerant line connected to the compressor, a discharge-side refrigerant temperature sensor which senses a temperature of a refrigerant passing through the discharge-side refrigerant line, and a bypass unit which bypasses the exhaust gas heat supplied to the discharge-side refrigerant line via the discharge-side refrigerant heating unit when the refrigerant temperature sensed by the discharge-side refrigerant temperature sensor is not lower than a predetermined temperature, to cut off the supply of the exhaust gas heat or to adjust an amount of the supplied exhaust gas heat. The exhaust gas heat and cooling water heat are appropriately distributed to both the suction and discharge sides of the compressor, so that it is possible to achieve an enhancement in heating performance and an enhancement in system efficiency.

Cooling/heating apparatus using cogeneration system

A cogeneration system is disclosed, wherein a generator which generates electricity, a drive source which operates to drive the generator, and generates waste heat during the operation of the drive source, a waste heat recoverer which recovers the waste heat of the drive source, and a radiator which radiates the waste heat recovered by the waste heat recoverer are arranged in a single chassis. The cogeneration system has a compact and simple arrangement, and achieves simple control operations, and an enhancement in operability.

A method of preventing rapid on/off of a compressor in a unitary air conditioner comprises the steps of, when a unitary-capacity operation signal is inputted from a thermostat to start an outdoor unit, and a specific operation stage is continued for more than a predetermined period of time after the operation is started, changing the operation stage of the outdoor unit to an operation stage higher than the specific operation stage, and operating the outdoor unit in the changed operation stage, and, when the compressor is stopped according to a signal from the thermostat within a specific period of time after the operation stage is changed to an operation stage higher than the specific operation stage, starting the operation in the specific operation stage at the next operation, and still performing the operation in the specific operation stage although the operation state is continued for more than a predetermined period of time. Consequently, the compressor is prevented from being rapidly turned on/off, and therefore, operational reliability of the compressor is improved, and the service life of the compressor is increased.

Method of preventing rapid on/off of compressor in unitary air conditioner

A cogeneration system is disclosed. The cogeneration system includes a heat pump type air conditioner, a waste heat recoverer to recover waste heat of a drive source, a waste heat supplying heat exchanger, which is heated by the waste heat recovered by the waste heat recoverer, and a bypassing unit, which causes the waste heat supplying heat exchanger to function as an evaporator during a heating operation of the heat pump type air conditioner. In accordance with this arrangement, it is possible to enhance the heating capacity of the heat pump type air conditioner irrespective of outdoor temperature, to prevent damage of compressors, and to minimize power consumption.

The system includes an engine, a generator connected to an output shaft of the engine to generate electricity, a dehumidifying agent body to dehumidify indoor air, a regeneration heater to regenerate the dehumidifying agent body, and a waste heat recovering means to supply waste heat of the engine to the regeneration heater, and thus, to allow the regeneration heater to use the supplied waste heat as a heat source for the regeneration of the dehumidifying agent body, so that the system exhibits a maximal efficiency.

An air conditioner incorporates valve devices mounted in a plurality of indoor units, respectively, for allowing refrigerant discharged from an outdoor heat exchanger to be introduced into one or more indoor units that are in operation. The refrigerant is prevented from being introduced into the other indoor units that are not in use, and therefore, oil is prevented from being accumulated in the other indoor units that are not in use. Also, an appropriate amount of refrigerant is supplied to the indoor units that are in operation, and therefore, reliability and efficiency of the air conditioner are improved.

A cogeneration system including an engine, which drives a generator to generate electricity, a cooling/heating unit using a heat pump type refrigerant cycle, in which a refrigerant is circulated through at least one compressor, a four-way valve, a first outdoor heat exchanger, a first expansion device, and an indoor heat exchanger, in this order, during a cooling operation of the cogeneration system, and a waste heat consuming heating unit using a refrigerant cycle, in which the refrigerant is circulated through the compressor, the four-way valve, the indoor heat exchanger, a second expansion device, and a second outdoor heat exchanger to be heated by waste heat of the engine, in this order, during a heating operation of the cogeneration system. In accordance with the cogeneration system, it is possible to maximize utilization of engine waste heat during the heating operation and to achieve an enhancement in heating performance.
