A portable communication apparatus in which an LCD can slide and stand at a desired angle is provided. To this end, the portable communication apparatus includes a first housing extending in a longitudinal direction and a second housing that slides substantially perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction and rotates while facing the first housing to stand at a desired angle. A guide member guides the sliding and rotational movement of the second housing, and a rotational moving member is included between the first housing and the second housing to make the second housing stand at the desired angle.

Portable communication apparatus with automatically rotating display by actuating a switch unit

A swing-type mobile communication terminal and a swing device for the mobile terminal are disclosed. The mobile communication terminal includes a main body housing having a plurality of first keys on its top face and a swing housing having a display unit on its top face. A swing device connects the main body housing with the swing housing so that the swing housing moves along a predetermined path while facing the main body housing to perform a first swing and a second, successive swing. After the first swing, the swing housing is positioned together with the main body housing in the shape ofand covers an upper portion of the main body housing. After performing the second swing, the swing housing is aligned with the longitudinal direction of the main body housing.

A sliding cradle in a mobile terminal has a body housing, and a sliding and pivotable housing adapted to rest in a slanting position on the body housing after being slid on the body housing. The sliding cradle comprises a first member fastened to the body housing, a second member fastened to the sliding and pivotable housing, and a sliding guide part arranged between the first and second members to guide the sliding movement of the sliding and pivotable housing. The sliding guide part has a pivot for pivoting the second member apart from the first member. A fixture member is fastened to the first member to face the sliding guide part. A pivot control device is connected to the first and second members to substantially prevent the sliding and pivotable housing from pivoting during the sliding movement and to enable the sliding and pivotable housing to pivot upon completion of the sliding movement.

Mobile phone with a sliding cradle for providing visual and acoustic convenience

A reinforcing apparatus for a housing of a bar-type mobile phone is provided to allow the housing to bend and straighten. The mobile phone includes a first housing having a liquid crystal display and a second housing having a key pad. The apparatus includes a first reinforcing member in the first housing, a second reinforcing member in the second housing, and a reinforcing connector that couples the first and second reinforcing members to each other and connects the first and second housings so that they may be bent or straightened with respect to one another. This configuration minimizes damage caused by dropping the phone.
